Office Chair Replacement - All Aspect

Admin October 22, 2026

Office chair replacement involves aspects such as centralized replacement plans, fabric replacement operations, and brand replacement trends.

Centralized Replacement Plans

Some companies initiate centralized office chair replacement plans. For example, ByteDance replaced the American brand Humanscale with the domestic brand "Qingxian s1" selected by Luo Yonghao. This replacement lasted from August 2026 to Q2 2027, with large-scale replacements of office chairs in domestic work areas such as Beijing Fangheng, Dazhongsi, and Shanghai Xinjiangwan. Companies may undertake centralized office chair replacements for various reasons, including cost control, enhancing employee comfort, and supporting domestic brands. From a cost perspective, some domestic brands are relatively less expensive. For instance, ByteDance replaced the Humanscale World, which had a retail price of approximately 8,000 yuan, with the Qingxian Smart S1, which has a public price of 2,549 yuan, resulting in significant cost savings. In terms of employee experience, appropriate office chairs can improve work comfort and reduce physical fatigue. Supporting domestic brands also helps promote the development of related domestic industries.

Fabric Replacement Operations

After a period of use, the fabric on office chair seats may show signs of damage, stains, or wear, affecting aesthetics and comfort. In such cases, fabric replacement can be performed. First, prepare sharp scissors, a screwdriver, and suitable fabric. Next, use the screwdriver to disassemble the chair, recording the positions and order of the screws. Then, measure the dimensions of the seat and backrest and cut the fabric, leaving some extra material. After that, cover and secure the new fabric onto the seat and backrest, paying attention to flatness and tension. Finally, reassemble the components in their original positions and order, tighten the screws, and check the chair's stability and comfort.

Brand Replacement Trends

Large companies are no longer blindly believing in office chairs costing tens of thousands of yuan. In addition to ByteDance, DJI previously switched its office chair procurement from the Herman Miller Aeron, which had a retail price of over 10,000 yuan, to Qingxian Smart office chairs. This indicates that companies are becoming more rational in their office chair selections, no longer solely pursuing high-priced brands but instead considering factors such as cost-effectiveness and functionality to find products that better suit their needs and employee usage.
