Office Chair Removal
Recently, there have been two main situations regarding the removal of office chairs: Amazon and Temu platforms removing non-compliant products and the US CPSC recalling specific products.

Removal by Amazon and Temu Platforms
Recently, Amazon and Temu platforms have removed office chairs that do not meet the EN1335 - 1 - 2 - 3 standard. This standard primarily focuses on the safety performance of office chairs. Specifically, the third part clearly stipulates the limit value of the lateral force applied when the seat is innovatively adjusted in height. To be precise, when the horizontal thrust reaches 300 Newtons, the chair legs must remain in full contact with the ground, and the sliding distance cannot exceed 30 millimeters. This regulation aims to ensure that during the height adjustment process of office chairs, there will be no instability due to excessive lateral force, preventing users from getting injured due to chair sliding or tipping over during use. If an office chair fails to meet this standard requirement, it may pose safety hazards, so the platforms will remove it to safeguard the safety of consumers.
Recall by the US CPSC
On January 16, 2025, the US CPSC recalled the WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China. The reason for the recall is that the bolts connecting the chair back and the base may fail. As a key component connecting the chair back and the base, the stability of the bolts is directly related to the overall structural safety of the office chair. If the bolts fail, the connection between the chair back and the base will become loose. During use, users may fall due to the sudden detachment of the chair back, resulting in serious physical injuries. To prevent such dangerous situations, the US CPSC promptly recalled the product and required relevant enterprises to take measures, such as replacing qualified bolts or repairing the product, to eliminate safety hazards.
