Office Chair - Reception Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

The reception chair is a supporting tool in the classification system of office chairs, primarily used in reception or meeting scenarios. It features a simple design, high-quality materials, and practical functions.

Reception chairs, along with executive chairs and mid-back chairs, belong to the category of office chairs. They are typically placed in front of executive desks and are specifically designed as matching seats for the opposite side of the boss's desk. Their formal name is reception chairs, and some people also refer to them as desk-front chairs. They mainly serve reception or meeting scenarios, enhancing the formality and professionalism of the office environment.

The design characteristics of reception chairs are distinct. Firstly, they have a simple and practical structure, often without armrests to reduce space occupation and facilitate visitor entry and exit. Secondly, the material selection is exquisite, with many using genuine leather or breathable mesh fabrics to ensure comfort and convey a sense of quality. Thirdly, they offer flexible and diverse functions, with some advanced models equipped with swivel and height-adjustment features to adjust angles according to business needs, enhancing convenience.

Reception chairs come in two main frame types: solid wood and steel. Solid wood frames are often made of high-quality wood, presenting a natural texture after fine processing, suitable for traditional or high-end office environments. Steel frames, on the other hand, are treated with metal electroplating processes, and their electroplated layers must pass salt spray tests to ensure a corrosion resistance and protection rating of 10, meeting long-term use requirements. In terms of upholstery, reception chairs mainly use cowhide or PU leather, ensuring durability and ease of cleaning and maintenance.

The design of reception chairs follows ergonomic principles. Some models are equipped with solid wood armrests designed according to the human body's curves (for models with armrests), concave thickened cushions, and extra-wide backrests. These designs effectively relieve arm fatigue and support the lumbar spine in maintaining a natural posture, reducing discomfort from prolonged sitting. Additionally, some models incorporate mechanical swivel functions for 360-degree automatic return, further enhancing the user experience.

During the production process, the key raw materials of reception chairs undergo strict testing, and both semi-finished and finished products must pass quality control and inspection standards to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements. These measures collectively guarantee the practicality and durability of reception chairs, making them indispensable supporting tools in office scenarios.
