Office Chair Partition Wall

Admin October 09, 2026

The combination of office chairs and partition walls is mainly reflected in office space planning and functional area division, commonly seen in workstation combination design and independent rest area construction scenarios.

In office workstation combination scenarios, partition walls often take the form of screens, forming an integrated solution with office desks and office chairs. For example, the four-person workstation combination launched by the Youju brand uses black office chairs paired with screen partitions featuring louvered perforated baffles. This design achieves space division through vertically oriented screen partitions, ensuring that each employee has a relatively independent work area while maintaining space permeability through the perforated structure. In the customized staff office desk solutions provided by Beijing Fudian Furniture Co., Ltd., the combination of simple screen workstations and office chairs also follows this logic, with the screen height typically controlled within the range of 1.2-1.5 meters, which can block the line of sight to avoid interference without causing a sense of spatial oppression.

The construction of independent rest areas adopts a more complete partition wall system. Typical cases show that an independent space is constructed by using light steel keels as the structural framework, covering them with gypsum boards to form the basic wall, and filling the interior with sound-insulating materials such as glass wool. This type of partition wall system can be paired with swivel office chairs to form a multi-functional rest area. The wall thickness is usually controlled within 10-15 centimeters, ensuring structural stability while maximizing space savings. The surface treatment of the partition wall can use acoustic panels or soft-pack materials to further enhance space comfort and form a functional complement with office chairs.

In terms of material selection, workstation screens mostly use aluminum alloy frames paired with PVC or acrylic panels, meeting the requirements for lightweight design while possessing fire-resistant and moisture-proof properties. Independent partition walls place more emphasis on sound insulation performance. The spacing between light steel keels is controlled within 400-600 millimeters, and the gypsum boards are installed using a double-layer staggered joint process, combined with 50-millimeter-thick glass wool filling, which can achieve a sound insulation effect of over 35 decibels. The selection of office chairs needs to match the type of partition wall. In workstation scenarios, it is advisable to choose fixed office chairs with armrests, while in rest areas, reclining swivel chairs are more suitable to enhance comfort.

In terms of spatial layout, it is recommended to maintain a distance of 80-100 centimeters between workstation partition walls and office chairs, ensuring both operational space and compliance with ergonomic requirements. The partition wall system in independent rest areas needs to reserve a passage width of at least 120 centimeters, and the rotation radius of office chairs should be controlled within 60 centimeters to avoid collisions with the walls.
