Inspection of Office Chairs
Admin October 10, 2026
The inspection of office chairs covers multiple key aspects and requires a comprehensive evaluation from dimensions such as structure, performance, safety, and comfort.

I. Basic Structure and Material Inspection
- Dimensions and Deviations: The external dimensions must meet design requirements, with a maximum deviation of โค5mm to ensure ergonomic compatibility.
- Material Requirements: The density and softness of the foam in the seat, back, and armrests must meet standards. Tubing should have no overlapping seams or cracks, with smooth bends. Engineering plastics should have a smooth surface without bubbles or impurities, and welding should be firm without cold welds to ensure structural stability.
- Fittings and Casters: Components should be complete and easy to assemble and disassemble, with anti-detachment treatment for plugs. Casters should rotate flexibly and be securely attached to prevent detachment or jamming during use.
II. Functional Mechanism Performance Testing
- Height Adjustment and Reclining Mechanisms: Pneumatic height adjustment should be smooth without air leaks or noise, with good coordination of screw mechanisms. The reclining mechanism should adjust flexibly and lock securely, maintaining stable function after prolonged use.
- Gas Spring Performance: Test the lifting travel, locking reliability, and sealing. It should cooperate stably in a tilted position to avoid failure risks.
- Armrests and Headrests: The adjustment functions of the armrests (height, forward/backward, rotation) should be smooth, without deformation under load. The adjustment range and locking effect of the headrest should meet the support needs of the human neck.
III. Safety and Durability Evaluation
- Safety Protection: Parts in contact with the human body should have no sharp edges or burrs, and the base fixing device should be firm to prevent tipping or scratches.
- Strength Testing: Apply static loads to parts such as the seat surface, backrest, and connectors to assess the risk of breakage or deformation, ensuring the load-bearing capacity meets standards.
- Durability Simulation: Simulate long-term use through repeated loading (such as pressure on the seat surface and rolling of casters) to analyze fatigue and wear of components, preventing performance degradation.
IV. Comfort and Sensory Experience
- Seat Surface Comfort: Test the hardness, compression performance, and resilience to avoid fatigue from prolonged sitting.
- Sensory Evaluation: Genuine leather should have a natural texture and soft feel, without sticking after prolonged sitting. Mesh or fabric should have no pilling or damage, with even stitching.
V. Stability and Appearance Quality
- Stability Testing: Evaluate resistance to tipping under forward, backward, and lateral forces to ensure safety during use.
- Appearance Inspection: The overall color should be consistent, with no scratches or burrs on the surface, uniform coating, and no shrinkage marks or cracks on plastic parts.
