Office Chair Height Adjustment
Office chair height adjustment can be achieved through the following methods, and specific operations should be carried out in combination with the chair type and functional characteristics:

1. Locate and operate the hand control device Most office chairs rely on a lever or knob beneath the seat for height adjustment. For pneumatic lift chairs, you usually need to pull up the lever and adjust the height in conjunction with your body weight: repeatedly push the lever up and down while seated to raise or lower the seat; for some models, you may need to operate while standing, placing the front of the chair under your knees and ensuring your feet are flat on the ground after sitting down. If you are unsure about the function of the lever, consult the user manual or try each one individually (be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid damage).
2. Gradually adjust to a comfortable position When operating, gently push the lever slowly, moving a few centimeters at a time to avoid imbalance caused by rapid lifting or lowering. Once you find the appropriate height, push the lever back into place to lock the height. Some models require reverse operation: pull the lever up to raise the seat and press it down to lower the seat. During the adjustment process, you can try sitting multiple times to ensure natural support for your waist and neck.
3. Choose the height according to the usage scenario
- Computer operation: Adjust the seat so that your eyes are level with the top of the monitor. If the monitor height is fixed, prioritize adjusting the seat;
- Desk work: Keep your elbows level with the desk to avoid having your arms hanging in the air or raised too high;
- Long-term sitting: Ensure your feet are flat on the ground, with your knees and hips bent at 90ยฐ to 110ยฐ to reduce lower limb pressure. If the chair is too high and cannot be adjusted, you can use a footrest for additional support.
4. Fine adjustment for special models Some ergonomic chairs (such as the Gedeli V1 6th generation and LBY-301) support multi-dimensional adjustment:
- Backrest height adjustment: Adjust the backrest height through side knobs or slide rails to match different heights;
- Lumbar/headrest micro-adjustment: Some models are equipped with sliding lumbar supports or rotatable headrests that need to be dynamically adjusted according to your sitting posture;
- Synchronized tilt: Some high-end models support synchronized tilting of the seat and backrest, which needs to be locked at the desired angle using a knob at the bottom.
Precautions:
- Before adjustment, check if the control device is loose or stuck to avoid sudden dropping during operation;
- Pneumatic chairs should have their gas rod seal checked regularly. If there is air leakage or abnormal noise, stop using them immediately;
- After long-term use, it is recommended to regularly clean the area around the control lever to prevent dust from affecting its sensitivity.
