Installation Method for Office Chair Headrest
Admin October 08, 2026
The installation of an office chair headrest should be selected based on the specific model, and the core process can be divided into three parts: preparation, installation process, and precautions, as detailed below:

I. Preparation
- Check Components: Ensure that the packaging includes the headrest body, mounting bracket (if applicable), screws or clips, and a wrench or other tools. Some integrated clip designs do not require additional tools and should be verified according to the product instructions.
- Confirm Compatibility: Check whether the top of the office chair backrest has pre-drilled holes for installation. Common hole spacings are 8mm or 100mm. If the backrest has no holes, choose a hole-free clip-on headrest that is fixed with strong adhesive or clips.
II. Installation Process (Example for models with a bracket)
- Locate Installation Holes: Lay the office chair backrest flat and find the pre-drilled holes on both sides at the top. Clean the dust around the holes with a soft cloth to avoid impurities affecting the installation.
- Secure the Bracket:
- If the headrest comes with a separate bracket, align the bracket with the holes and secure it with screws (pay attention to the tightening direction to avoid slipping).
- For integrated clip designs, press directly onto the holes to ensure the clips are fully embedded.
- Attach the Headrest:
- Align the clips or screws of the headrest body with the bracket, press down or rotate the screws until secure.
- Some models are equipped with adjustment knobs to modify the headrest height (usually ranging from 5-70cm).
- Supplementary Method from Luban Home Services Video: Place the headrest in the middle at the top of the backrest, press to fit snugly against the backrest, and use 2 screws to pass through the fixing clips. First, screw them in loosely for 3-4 turns, then tighten them one by one.
III. Precautions
- Adjustment Test: After installation, adjust the headrest up and down or back and forth to ensure there is no looseness or abnormal noise. The headrest angle should conform to the natural curve of the cervical spine, with a recommended backward tilt of 15ยฐ-65ยฐ.
- Hole-Free Installation: If the backrest has no holes and you choose a headrest with strong adhesive or clips, clean the backrest surface first, clamp it tightly, and let it sit for 24 hours before use to ensure the adhesive fully bonds.
- Safe Operation: When using screws for fixation, avoid excessive force that may cause slipping; for clip-on installations, confirm that the clips are fully embedded to prevent detachment.
Tip: Installation details may vary among different brands and models. It is recommended to refer to the product manual first or contact after-sales service for precise guidance.
