Office Chair Gravity Wheel

Admin October 13, 2026

The office chair gravity wheel is a special type of wheel that can automatically lock or unlock under the influence of gravity, offering features such as noise reduction and floor protection.

Working Principle
The core mechanism of the office chair gravity wheel is based on gravity sensing. When the user sits down, gravity is applied to the internal mechanism of the wheel, triggering the locking function and preventing the wheel from rotating freely, thus ensuring stability during use. When the user stands up, the gravity disappears, and the internal mechanism releases the lock, allowing the wheel to return to a freely movable state for easy position adjustment. Additionally, some gravity wheels are equipped with an โ€œon/offโ€ switch. When the switch is set to the โ€œoffโ€ position, the wheel can bypass the gravity sensing mechanism and remain freely movable at all times, meeting the needs of special scenarios.

Structure and Material
The gravity wheel features a plug-and-play design, making it easy to disassemble and assemble without the need for complex tools for replacement or maintenance. The wheel typically has a diameter of 60mm and is wrapped with a soft PU (polyurethane) material on the outer layer. PU material is highly elastic and wear-resistant, effectively cushioning the friction between the wheel and the ground, reducing noise during movement, and preventing scratches or wear on sensitive surfaces such as solid wood floors caused by hard wheels.

Functional Advantages

  1. Enhanced Safety: Automatically locks when seated, preventing accidental falls due to chair movement, making it particularly suitable for family environments with children or elderly individuals.
  2. Noise-Free Experience: The PU material and soft structure reduce hard collisions between the wheel and the ground, significantly lowering noise levels during movement, ideal for office or study environments requiring a quiet atmosphere.
  3. Floor Protection: The soft PU outer layer distributes pressure, preventing the wheel from leaving indentations or scratches on surfaces such as solid wood floors and tiles, extending the lifespan of the floor.
  4. Flexible Switching: Through the โ€œon/offโ€ switch, users can manually control the wheel's state according to their needs, such as turning off the gravity locking function when frequent chair movement is required, improving usage efficiency.

Applicable Scenarios
Gravity wheels are widely used in scenarios that require a balance of stability and mobility, such as home studies, offices, and conference rooms. Their noise-reducing and floor-protecting features make them the preferred choice for users with solid wood floors, while the automatic locking function meets the need for temporarily fixing the chair, such as during writing, dining, or crafting activities.
