Office Chair Base Replacement
The replacement of the base of an office chair can be carried out according to the following steps:

I. Prepare Tools Prepare tools such as a rubber mallet, a screwdriver, calipers, lubricating oil, and a wrench in advance. These tools have different uses during the disassembly and installation process. For example, the rubber mallet is used to strike components to separate them, the screwdriver is used to remove screws, and the lubricating oil helps in disassembling tightly connected gas cylinders.
II. Remove the Seat Cushion Step on the chair legs while pressing the height adjustment lever and shaking, or strike the connection between the seat cushion and the gas cylinder. After that, the seat cushion can be easily removed. This step is relatively simple, and proper operation can separate the seat cushion from other parts of the chair.
III. Flip the Chair Turn the chair upside down so that the base faces upwards. This makes it easier to operate on the base part later, allows a clearer view of the connections between components, and facilitates the disassembly of the base.
IV. Disassemble the Base Gently strike the steel ring of the base with a rubber mallet to gradually separate it from the gas cylinder. You can also hold the chair upside down with one hand and strike the bottom plate with a rubber mallet. If you don't have a rubber mallet and are worried about scratching the paint with an iron hammer, you can pad a towel. After striking several times, the bottom plate can be separated.
V. Separate the Upper Seat Remove the screws of the upper seat, and then use striking or stepping methods to completely separate the upper seat from the gas cylinder. Pay attention to using an appropriate amount of force during the operation to avoid damaging the components.
VI. Disassemble the Gas Cylinder If the gas cylinder is tightly connected, you can first apply lubricating oil and let it sit for a while before disassembling it. If there is a problem with the gas cylinder, turn the chair upside down and strike the bottom of the gas cylinder flatly with a hammer. Remember to use a flat surface because the buckle in the middle of the gas cylinder should not be touched. If the height of the buckle is higher than the bottom of the gas cylinder, do not strike it.
VII. Install the New Base Install the new base in the reverse order of disassembly.
During the disassembly process, prioritize safety. Always wear gloves and be careful when using tools to avoid injury. Protect the appearance and avoid scratching or damaging the chair. Disassemble in an orderly manner to avoid losing or mixing up components. If you encounter complex structures or have difficulty in disassembly, it is advisable to seek the help of professionals to ensure safety.
