Office Chair Armrest Adjustment

Admin October 11, 2026

The methods for adjusting the height of armrests vary among different types of office chairs and should be operated according to the specific type of chair.

For the C100 Deluxe Edition Office Chair, the armrest adjustment function is quite unique. To adjust the seat forward or backward, you need to push the lower metal handle forward. To adjust the seat height, push the other metal handle forward. The armrests have a gear design; simply lift them gently to adjust. When pulled to the highest position, they will return to the first gear, and you can repeat this operation to select the appropriate gear.

The handle adjustment for regular pneumatic swivel chairs is relatively simple. These chairs generally have one or two handles for adjusting the seat height. If there is only one handle, pulling it up raises the seat height; sitting on the chair and pulling the handle up lowers the height. If there are two handles, you need to first identify which one is for height adjustment and then follow the above method.

Among other types of chairs, lifting chairs use lifting devices categorized into hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic types. The mechanical type uses a screw rod, and the height is adjusted by rotating the handle, following the principle of counterclockwise for lowering and clockwise for raising. When adjusting, sit on the seat, lift the handle while lightly lifting your hips with your feet on the ground, and release the handle when reaching the desired height.

The adjustment methods for some office chairs are even more diverse. First, look for the hand control device. Sitting on the chair, pull up the corresponding control lever to adjust the height; some models require turning a knob. If you are unsure which lever controls the height, read the instructions or pull the lever to try. For some models, pulling up the lever raises the seat, and pressing it down lowers the seat. For pneumatic models, you can pump the lever, that is, repeatedly push it up and down to achieve seat lifting and lowering.
