Low-Quality Caster Office Chairs
Low-quality caster office chairs have numerous issues, including inferior materials and significant safety hazards, so consumers need to choose carefully.

Inferior Materials, Harmful to Health
Low-quality caster office chairs often cut corners in material usage. Take the previously exposed low-quality caster stool as an example. Its exterior is covered with artificial leather, and when the surface foam pad is cut open, it is found that the base plate is extensively blackened and moldy, all made of spliced waste wood. This low-quality plate is not only low in strength and prone to damage, but the blackened mold can also breed a large number of bacteria and molds. Long-term contact may cause respiratory diseases, skin allergies, and other health problems. At the same time, low-quality materials also emit pungent odors, which may contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde and benzene, causing damage to the human nervous system, immune system, etc., and seriously affecting the physical health of users.
Prominent Safety Hazards
According to the national supervision and inspection results of office chairs released by the State Administration for Market Regulation, some caster office chairs have serious safety hazards. Among the 101 batches of office chair products inspected, 15 batches were unqualified, with an unqualified rate of 14.9%. Among them, swivel chairs, as a common type, have relatively many quality issues, with products from casters to bases and even the pneumatic rods for height adjustment being found unqualified. Five batches of products had unqualified caster reciprocating wear, which means that the casters are prone to wear during use, resulting in the chair moving unsmoothly and even the possibility of caster detachment, which may cause users to fall and get injured. In addition, unqualified pneumatic rods may also trigger serious safety accidents such as explosions, posing a great threat to the personal safety of users.
Purchase Recommendations
When purchasing caster office chairs, consumers should choose products from formal channels and well-known brands and check the product's quality inspection reports and relevant certification marks. At the same time, pay attention to observing the material and workmanship of the product to avoid buying low-quality products.
