How to Tilt an Office Chair Forward
The methods for adjusting the forward tilt of executive chairs vary depending on the brand and model, but the following general steps can usually be followed:

Step 1: Check the position of the adjustment lever and rule out incorrect base installation Some executive chairs may have an abnormal position of the adjustment lever due to incorrect installation. Sit on the chair and look down at the base. If you find that the handle for adjusting the forward tilt is on the left side, it indicates that the base may be installed backward. In this case, you need to turn the chair upside down, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws connecting the base to the seat cushion, rotate the base 180 degrees, and then reinstall it to ensure that the control lever is on the right side. This step is the foundation for subsequent adjustments. If the base direction is incorrect, subsequent operations may not take effect.
Step 2: Adjust the seat cushion angle using the handle After confirming that the base position is correct, sit on the chair and keep your body stable. Reach under the seat cushion with one hand to find the adjustment handle (usually made of metal or plastic with an anti-slip texture). When pulling the handle, you need to adjust your body's center of gravity simultaneously: if you need to tilt forward, move your body slightly forward; if you need to return to the horizontal position, move your body backward. Feel the change in the seat cushion angle. When you reach a comfortable position, release the handle, and the internal catch mechanism of the handle will automatically lock the current angle. Be careful not to use excessive force during operation to avoid damaging the adjustment mechanism.
Step 3: Check and adjust the backrest tilt lock For some executive chairs, the forward tilt function of the seat cushion is related to the backrest angle lock. If the backrest tilts abnormally after adjusting the seat cushion (such as being unable to tilt forward synchronously or having a stuck backward tilt), you need to find the tilt lock lever under the seat (usually a black plastic lever located under the front edge of the seat cushion). Gently pull up the lever to release the backrest lock. Then, lean back against the backrest to match the angle with the seat cushion, and push the lever back to complete the locking. This step ensures that the seat cushion and the backrest form a coordinated support angle, improving comfort.
Special case handling: If the chair has no clear adjustment handle or lever, it may adopt an integrated gas spring design. Such chairs usually achieve forward tilt by naturally pressing down on the seat cushion with body weight. At the same time, you need to rotate the adjustment knob on the gas spring (located in the center under the seat cushion) to control the forward tilt resistance. It is recommended to refer to the product manual or contact after-sales service to confirm the specific operation method to avoid damaging the chair due to misoperation.
