Garbage Office Chair

Admin October 08, 2026

Garbage office chairs may pose serious problems such as explosion risks, component breakage, poor stability, easy wear of casters, and excessive formaldehyde levels, threatening the health and safety of users.

1. Explosion Risk: Defects in Pneumatic Rod Quality and Explosion-Proof Design
Unqualified pneumatic swivel chairs are the main source of explosion accidents. If the pneumatic rod has a thin tube wall, is filled with compressed air (instead of inert gas), or lacks explosion-proof steel plates with a thickness of โ‰ฅ2 millimeters, frequent lifting and lowering that causes temperature increases may trigger an explosion. For example, office chairs produced by companies such as Shanghai Xingaofan were judged as unqualified in safety items due to the absence of explosion-proof steel plates.

2. Component Breakage: Insufficient Structural Strength
Key components of swivel chairs, such as the five-star base and pneumatic rod, are at risk of breakage. In static load tests on the base, some products had their five-star bases crushed. If breakage occurs during daily use, it may cause the user to fall and get injured. Such problems often stem from insufficient material strength or manufacturing process defects.

3. Poor Stability: Prone to Tipping Over, Causing Personal Injury
Seven batches of products were found to be unqualified in stability during spot checks. These chairs are prone to tipping over when leaning forward, backward, or sitting sideways, resulting in falls at best and head or joint injuries at worst, especially posing a greater danger to children or those with mobility issues.

4. Poor Caster Quality: Easy Wear Affecting Use
There are significant differences in the raw material costs of casters (ranging from 1 to 10 yuan). Low-quality casters may wear out after only 10,000 to 20,000 uses, while qualified products should last up to 100,000 uses. Worn-out casters can make the chair difficult to move or cause sudden jams, increasing usage risks.

5. Excessive Formaldehyde: Long-Term Exposure Risks Cancer
Four batches of products failed the formaldehyde emission test. As a Class I carcinogen, long-term low-level exposure to formaldehyde can cause dizziness and fatigue, while high levels can irritate the respiratory tract and damage the nervous system, immune system, and liver. Office chairs that use low-quality plywood or coatings may become sources of indoor formaldehyde pollution.

Purchase Recommendations: Prioritize products that have passed national safety certifications (such as GB/T 38611-2020). Check whether the pneumatic rod has explosion-proof steel plates, whether the five-star base is stable, whether the caster material is wear-resistant, and request formaldehyde test reports from the seller.
