Wheel Office Chair Installation

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation of a wheel office chair should follow a 'bottom-up' sequence. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Pre-installation Preparation

    • Inventory of Components: This includes a five-star base, casters, a gas lift (pneumatic rod), seat body (including chassis), backrest, armrests, a screw package, and an instruction manual.
    • Tool Preparation: A Phillips screwdriver, an Allen wrench, a rubber mallet, and a level (for adjusting seat balance).
    • Component Integrity Check: Ensure that all parts are present and undamaged, especially the seal of the gas lift and the spring clip structure of the casters.
  2. Installing Casters

    • Align the caster's pin vertically with the wheel hole of the five-star base and press down firmly until you hear a 'click', indicating that the spring clip has locked.
    • Key Details: Ensure that the axles of all wheels are perpendicular to the ground to prevent seat wobbling after installation. If the casters are brake-equipped, distinguish between left and right wheels and install them corresponding to the chair legs (new brake casters are usually marked with 'L/R' labels).
  3. Installing the Gas Lift

    • Insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the five-star base and secure it by gravity or a bottom clip.
    • Precautions: The gas lift must be fully inserted to avoid tilting, which could lead to failure of the lifting function or safety hazards.
  4. Installing the Seat Body and Armrests

    • Securing the Chassis: Use screws to fasten the metal chassis to the bottom of the seat, ensuring alignment of the screw holes.
    • Installing the Backrest and Armrests: Connect the backrest and armrests to the seat with screws, leaving the screws slightly loose for subsequent angle and position adjustments.
    • Adjustment Recommendations: Based on the user's height and sitting habits, initially adjust the backrest tilt (usually between 90ยฐ and 110ยฐ) and armrest height (level with the desktop).
  5. Final Assembly and Adjustment

    • Connecting the Gas Lift and Seat: Lift the seat body with both hands, align the bottom hole with the top of the gas lift, and press down vertically until you hear a locking sound.
    • Function Testing:
      • Repeatedly press the lifting handle to confirm that the seat can rise and fall smoothly without jamming.
      • Rotate the seat to check if the casters rotate flexibly.
      • Sit on it to test the stability of the backrest and armrests, ensuring no looseness.
    • Final Tightening: After confirming that all functions are normal, use tools to fully tighten the screws of the backrest and armrests to prevent loosening after long-term use.

Additional Notes: If the chair is equipped with a headrest, the headrest bracket should be fixed separately after installing the backrest and adjusted to the appropriate height. After installation, it is recommended to use a level to check if the seat is level and make necessary adjustments by regulating the height of the casters or gas lift.
