What to Do If the Office Chair Leans to the Left
If your office chair leans to the left, you can first check the wheels, floor, connecting components, and gas lift cylinder for issues and address them accordingly.

Check and Replace the Wheels
If the wheels are uneven when the chair is placed upright or upside down, it may be due to bent, deformed, or damaged wheel feet at the bottom of the chair causing the tilt. You can purchase a new set of matching wheels for replacement. The specific steps are as follows: Pull out each caster directly for removal. If the caster is stuck and cannot be pulled out, use a flat-head screwdriver inserted into the small gap between the wheel foot and the chair's contact point as a lever. For a very small number of casters fixed with screws, loosen the screws to remove the caster. Apply a small amount of spray lubricant to each chair base socket. If you don't have any, you can use petroleum jelly as a substitute. Use a rubber mallet to tap each caster into its chair socket. Turn the chair upside down and test the new wheels. If the chair no longer tilts to one side, the repair is complete.Check the Floor and Adjust
If the issue is not with the wheels, check if the floor is level. Move the chair to a different location. If the wobbling disappears, the floor is uneven. In this case, you can use rubber pads to elevate the shorter leg(s) or use an angle grinder to sand down the longer chair legs. You can also use adjustable feet to fine-tune the height and keep the chair balanced.Tighten Connecting Components
After using the chair for a while, the screws and bolts at the connection between the seat and the chair legs are prone to loosening. If you shake the chair and hear a creaking sound or feel a gap at the connection, it is likely that the connecting parts are loose. Use a screwdriver or wrench to turn the screws counterclockwise to loosen them, add a small amount of lubricant, and then turn them clockwise to tighten. If the screw holes are worn, you can dip a toothpick or a thin wooden stick in white glue and insert it into the screw hole. After the glue dries, screw the screw back in for reinforcement.Replace the Gas Lift Cylinder
A damaged gas lift cylinder is one of the main reasons for the chair leaning to the left or right. If the gas lift cylinder is damaged, the chair will lose its balance and tilt significantly to one side. You can replace the gas lift cylinder. First, lift the chair so that the chair feet are off the ground. Use a rubber mallet to tap the chair feet from top to bottom until the rubber joint is reached. When disassembling, first remove the chair feet, then turn the chair upside down, hold the gas lift cylinder, and tap the base until it falls off. Be careful not to hit the gas lift cylinder directly.
