Various Office Chair Installation

Admin October 11, 2026

The installation of office chairs requires selecting the appropriate steps based on the type, with the core process being 'assembling the basic structure from the bottom up and then connecting the functional components'. The specific operations are as follows:

I. Basic Office Chair Installation Steps

  1. Installation of Chair Legs and Wheels: Align the five wheels with the slots or holes on the chair legs and press them vertically until fully embedded. Some designs may require gently tapping the edges of the wheels to assist in securing them, ensuring there is no looseness.
  2. Installation of the Pneumatic Rod: Insert the pneumatic rod vertically into the center hole of the chair legs, ensuring that the bottom of the rod is fully flush with the chair legs. If the fit is too tight, gently tap the top of the rod or rotate it to adjust the angle.
  3. Fixing the Base Plate: Use screws (usually No. 1 or No. 2) to secure the base plate to the bottom of the chair seat. Ensure that the screws pass through the holes in the base plate and align with the pre-threaded holes in the chair seat to avoid slipping.
  4. Connecting the Chair Back: Attach the chair back to the chair seat using corner brackets or screws. If using corner brackets, first secure them to the chair back and then align and tighten them with the chair seat; if connecting directly with screws, insert the screws from the bottom of the chair seat and tighten them.
  5. Assembling the Base and Pneumatic Rod: Insert the assembled chair seat base vertically into the top of the pneumatic rod until you hear a 'click' sound or confirm there is no wobbling.
  6. Installation of Armrests and Headrests: Armrests are usually fixed to both sides of the chair seat with screws (such as No. 3 screws), aligning the holes and tightening them step by step; if the headrest is adjustable, insert its bracket into the pre-made slot on the chair back and tighten the adjustment buckle.

II. Key Points for Installing Multi-functional Executive Chairs

  1. Prioritize Installation of Footrest Components: If the chair includes a footrest, first secure the frame (such as a metal bracket) to the bottom of the chair seat before installing other components to avoid insufficient operating space later.
  2. Matching Screw Models for Armrests: Some models specify the use of No. 3 screws to fix the armrests. Check the instruction manual to avoid using the wrong model, which may lead to looseness.
  3. Testing Adjustment Functions: After installation, test the functions such as the extension of the footrest and the height adjustment of the armrests to ensure they operate normally without any jamming or abnormal noises.

III. General Installation Principles and Precautions

  1. Assemble from the Bottom Up: Prioritize completing the basic structures such as the chair legs, pneumatic rod, and base plate before installing upper components like the chair back and armrests to avoid repeated disassembly.
  2. Use Screw Accessories According to Their Numbers: The screw numbers in the instruction manual correspond to specific parts (e.g., No. 1 screws for the base plate, No. 2 for the chair back). Mixing them up may lead to structural instability.
  3. Auxiliary Operation Techniques: If the pneumatic rod fits too tightly with the chair legs, raise the pneumatic rod to its highest position, hold the seat cushion with one hand, press the height adjustment lever with the other hand, and shake it to disassemble; when separating components, gently tap the edge of the cover with a rubber mallet.

IV. Handling Special Situations

  • Disassembly Sequence: If disassembly is required, it is recommended to follow the reverse order of installation (e.g., first remove the headrest and armrests, then separate the chair back from the chair seat).
  • Handling Stubborn Connections: For stubborn connections such as between the pneumatic rod and chair legs, gently tap with a rubber mallet wrapped in a soft cloth to avoid damaging the surface of the components.

Before installation, be sure to check the accessory list to confirm that all components (such as wheels, screws, and headrests) are complete to avoid work stoppages.
