The Office Chair Foot is Broken
If the foot of your office chair is broken, you can take the following measures based on the extent of the damage:

I. Self-repair
- Replace the damaged caster wheels If only one caster wheel is not rotating, damaged, or has fallen off, first identify the type of wheel:
- Threaded type: Use your hand or a tool to unscrew the old wheel counterclockwise. When installing the new wheel, screw it in clockwise and tighten it to ensure that the model, size, and load-bearing capacity match.
- Pin-type: Grasp the wheel with both hands, press it downwards, and rotate it left and right to pull it out. When installing, insert it vertically with force. A clicking sound indicates that the snap-in is in place.
- Replace the entire five-star chair base When the five-star base is broken, severely deformed, or detached from the central column, it needs to be replaced as a whole:
- Place the chair on its side or upside down on a soft pad and observe the connection method:
- Flat washer and snap ring fixation: Use a tool to remove the snap ring and extract the old five-star base.
- Tapered press fit: Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the connection to loosen it and then remove it.
- Purchase a matching new five-star base (pay attention to the size, material, and load-bearing capacity) and install it in the original way, ensuring it is secure.
- Simple repair of the footrest If the footrest is loose or has come unglued, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws. If it is broken, evenly apply glue to the broken part and wait for it to dry completely before using it to avoid secondary damage caused by uneven force.
II. Contact the manufacturer's after-sales service Check the chair's warranty information. If it is still within the warranty period, directly contact the manufacturer's after-sales service. Have a professional repair or replace the chair foot to avoid voiding the warranty due to self-operation.
III. Find a professional repair person If the damage is complex (such as rust at the connection between the central column and the chair foot or internal structural damage) or the risk of self-repair is high, you can contact a nearby furniture repair person to ensure the repair quality.
IV. Customize the chair foot If you cannot purchase matching parts (such as for old models or special designs), you can contact a furniture customization shop to customize a chair foot according to the size and style of the chair. Give priority to steel or aluminum alloy materials, which have better load-bearing performance than nylon.
V. Replace the chair If the chair is inexpensive, has been used for a long time, or the damage involves the main load-bearing structure (such as deformation of the central column) and the repair cost is close to or exceeds the price of a new chair, it is recommended to replace it directly. When replacing, give priority to steel or aluminum alloy chair feet, which have significantly better load-bearing capacity and durability than nylon materials and can reduce the risk of future damage.
