The Office Chair Board is Broken
Admin October 19, 2026
The broken office chair board can be repaired through steps such as assessing the damage, preparing tools and materials, cleaning and sanding, applying glue for fixation, waiting for solidification, sanding and coloring, and maintenance. If unsure, seek help from professionals.

- Assess the damage: Carefully examine the location, extent, and neatness of the break on the office chair board. If it's just a minor crack, it may be repairable through gluing. If the break is more severe and the edges are uneven, replacement of the part may be necessary. For example, if there is a large crack in the middle of the board and some wood chips have fallen off around it, a new board may be needed in this case. If there are only small cracks at the edges, gluing repair can be attempted.
- Prepare tools and materials: Gather the appropriate tools and materials based on the damage. For gluing repair, you may need clamps, glue (such as AB glue, white glue, or special woodworking glue), sandpaper, cloth strips, etc. If part replacement is required, you'll need an electric drill, drill bits, nails, self-tapping screws, etc. For example, when using AB glue for gluing, clamps can be used to fix the broken part to ensure a tight fit.
- Clean the broken area: Use tools to remove the old glue residue from the broken area and clean it thoroughly to ensure better adhesion of the new glue. You can gently scrape off the old glue with a knife or sandpaper, being careful not to cause secondary damage to the board.
- Sand and trim: Sand the broken edges with sandpaper to make them smooth and avoid sharp parts that could scratch the user. At the same time, use soft materials like cloth strips to trim the shape to match the surrounding area and ensure the aesthetic appeal after repair.
- Apply glue and fix: Apply glue evenly to the cleaned and trimmed broken area, and then use clamps or heavy objects to fix the broken part to ensure a tight fit. Different types of glue have different solidification times, so follow the instructions on the package.
- Wait for solidification: Allow the glue to solidify naturally at room temperature. The specific time depends on the type of glue and the room temperature. Do not move or touch the repaired area randomly during this period to avoid affecting the repair effect.
- Sand and color: After the glue has completely solidified, gently sand the surface with sandpaper to make it smooth. Apply a color or paint similar to the surrounding chair as needed to make the repaired area blend in with the whole.
- Maintenance: Use cotton yarn dipped in maintenance agents such as beeswax to maintain the repaired part to protect the surface and enhance its aesthetic appeal.
