Split Office Chair Installation

Admin October 19, 2026

The installation of a split office chair should be carried out in a standardized step-by-step manner. The core process includes tool preparation, component assembly, function testing, and safety inspection. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Tool and Component Preparation

    • Tools: Prepare a Phillips screwdriver, an adjustable wrench (some models may require an Allen wrench), a rubber mallet, and scissors.
    • Component Check: Verify all components against the instruction manual. Common components include chair legs (five-star or four-leg), gas lift, seat, backrest, armrests, headrest (for some models), and a screw pack. If any components are missing or damaged, contact after-sales service promptly for replacements.
  2. Split Backrest Installation

    • If the backrest and seat are separate components, align the backrest with the metal bracket at the rear of the seat and secure it with screws. For example, the W302 split four-leg chair requires four long screws to connect the backrest and seat cushion; the T23-A split bow-leg chair requires placing the backrest and then fastening it to the chair body with screws. Ensure the screws are fully tightened to prevent the backrest from wobbling due to looseness.
  3. Armrest Installation

    • Align the screw holes on both sides of the seat and fix the armrests with the provided screws, ensuring symmetry. Some models have adjustable armrests (e.g., the T23-A armrests can be flipped 90ยฐ). When installing, leave space for adjustment to avoid overly tight screws that may affect flexibility.
  4. Additional Component Installation

    • Headrest: Insert the headrest rod into the reserved hole at the top of the backrest and rotate it to the desired height (e.g., the W302 headrest supports vertical rotation adjustment).
    • Lumbar Support: Attach it to the middle of the backrest using Velcro or snaps (e.g., the T23-A lumbar support is height-adjustable), ensuring it fits the curve of the back.
    • Footrest/Wheels: Press the wheels firmly into the holes at the ends of the chair legs until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating they are securely installed and preventing them from falling off.
  5. Post-Installation Inspection

    • Stability Test: Shake the chair to check if the connections between the backrest, armrests, and other parts are secure, with no unusual noises or looseness.
    • Function Testing: Test whether the height adjustment, recline, and rotation functions operate smoothly. Ensure the gas lift moves without jamming and the recline angle can be locked.
    • Safety Check: Verify that all screws are fully tightened with no exposed sharp edges; the wheels are firmly attached and do not shift when the chair is pushed.

Installation details may vary for different models. It is recommended to refer to the specific product instruction manual for operation. If resistance is encountered during installation, do not force assembly. Instead, check the orientation of the components or whether the screw specifications match.
