Small Office Chair Weaving Methods
The weaving methods for small office chairs vary depending on the materials used, with three common approaches being solid wood frame weaving, paper vine weaving, and Instagram-style seat weaving.

Solid Wood Frame Weaving for Small Chairs: The frame material requires handmade solid wood. You can purchase a frame chair without a seat or have a woodworking shop customize eight 44cm wooden beams. For the weaving material, select 100 meters each of black and white weaving ropes. When weaving, first purchase or customize the frame and ropes, then weave the ropes according to the design pattern. You can draw the design on paper first to ensure symmetry and aesthetics. After weaving, secure the woven ropes to the frame using knots or hot glue, and finally check that the weaving is firm and not loose.
Paper Vine Weaving for Mini Chairs: The tools required include paper vines, white glue, scissors, and fishing line. For the seat surface, take 2 strands of 18 paper vines and weave them using a press-2-pick-2 method. For the chair ring, use 5 strands of paper vines to form a circle the same size as the seat surface, then use 2 strands of paper vines to glue a circle inward and attach the seat surface to the ring. After making the chair legs, attach them to the top of the seat surface, with the height of the legs customizable. For the chair back, tie a ribbon on it and make a bow.
Instagram-Style Seat Weaving: In terms of material preparation, the seat frame can be a black horizontal-striped iron leisure chair, or materials such as wood, rattan, or acrylic can also be used, with colors including black, white, gold, silver, transparent, and laser. For the weaving rope, choose black and white 12mm three-strand cotton ropes, with rope cross-section diameters ranging from 2mm to 20mm, with three-strand and eight-strand being the most common. Other tools include scissors, utility knives, transparent tape, and soft measuring tapes/rulers. During the weaving process, you may get covered in lint, so it is recommended to wear a mask and a lint roller. If you are new to this and are not satisfied with parts of the weaving during the process, you can redo them. When starting to weave, measure the length, copy it n times, cut the folded parts, complete and set aside many ropes at once, and then start weaving. The chair has a horizontal-striped style, with the ropes woven vertically. The midpoint of the rope goes around the highest horizontal bar of the chair back, and the two ropes are woven by overlapping and interlacing, pulled as tight as possible, and so on. You can leave spaces or weave the entire chair. The color and pattern combinations can be based on your mood, including black, white, and gray; colorful; or black, white, and colorful.
