Simple Office Chair Production

Admin October 12, 2026

The production process of a simple office chair mainly includes three core steps: metal frame fabrication, leather and foam processing, and assembly.

Metal frame fabrication is the foundational step. First, the steel tubes are bent into the shape of the bottom cushion frame, and steel bars are welded in the middle to install the mechanical device for adjusting the seat. Next, steel springs are hung to form the suspension net of the seat, and metal rods are clamped onto the springs to enhance the stability and support of the seat. Subsequently, the backrest frame of the seat, including the lumbar support, armrest parts, and other accessories, is welded according to the design drawings, completing the fabrication of the entire seat's metal frame. This step requires precise measurement and welding techniques to ensure the frame's stability and durability.

Leather and foam processing is key to enhancing comfort. The leather is laid flat on a cutting table and cut into the required patterns for the seat according to the pre-designed templates. At the same time, the filling foam is cut according to the shape of the leather. The cushion part usually uses harder foam to maintain its shape, while the backrest part selects softer foam to improve comfort during use. Afterward, the leather and foam are sewn together, with pleats pinched at special positions to form decorative thread patterns. The backrest, side panels, and contour covers of the seat are sewn separately to ensure that each part fits the human body's curves and provides comfortable support.

The assembly step integrates all parts into a complete seat. A layer of cardboard is added to the backrest frame, followed by a layer of foam, and finally wrapped with a leather cover to increase the comfort and durability of the backrest. Next, a sliding plate assembly is installed to enable the front-to-back adjustment function of the cushion. Then, a hydraulic cylinder is installed to adjust the seat's height and enable 360-degree rotation. The hydraulic cylinder is connected to an aluminum base, and casters are inserted to allow the seat to move flexibly. Finally, a headrest and armrests are installed on the backrest to provide more comprehensive support and a comfortable experience for the user. Thus, the production of a simple office chair is completed.
