Pingdingshan Adjustable Office Chair Maintenance

Admin October 08, 2026

The maintenance of adjustable office chairs in Pingdingshan requires attention to multiple aspects such as handling, usage, inspection, and upkeep. Here are the specific methods:

Handling and Placement: When moving the chair, lift it gently and place it down softly to avoid severe impacts that could deform the chair's structure or damage the surface material. Place the chair away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can accelerate the aging and embrittlement of plastic components and may cause fading, hardening, or even cracking of genuine leather materials. If the environment has high humidity, ensure good ventilation to prevent metal parts from rusting or wooden parts from getting moldy.

Daily Use and Recovery: After sitting for a long time, pat the compressed areas and edges of the seat to promote material rebound and reduce indentation marks. When using the pneumatic rod for height adjustment, keep your body's center of gravity in the middle of the seat to avoid unilateral force that could cause the pneumatic rod to tilt or experience adjustment jams. If the chair automatically slides down, first check the tightness of the pneumatic rod. Aging and pressure loss or worn seals can lead to gas leakage, requiring replacement of the pneumatic rod. A misaligned adjustment lever can also cause malfunctions, which can be resolved by adjusting the lever back to its original position.

Regular Inspection and Maintenance: Check monthly for loose connecting parts such as screws and springs, and adjust the spring tension according to the user's weight (usually adjusted via a knob under the seat). Every 3-6 months (for office settings) or once a year (for home use), apply specialized lubricating oil to moving parts such as the pneumatic rod, casters, and adjustment joints as per the instructions to reduce friction and wear. For electric adjustable chairs, additionally check if the connection wires between the motor and the push rod are loose to avoid contact failures that could cause height adjustment malfunctions.

Prohibited Actions: Do not sit on the armrests or place heavy objects (such as computer towers or suitcases) on them, as this could cause the armrests to break or the chair to tip over. Keep genuine leather seats away from heat sources such as radiators and electric heaters. High temperatures can accelerate the loss of moisture from the leather, leading to cracking. Also, avoid using cleaning agents containing alcohol or strong corrosives to prevent damage to the surface coating.

Safety Precautions: When purchasing, ensure that a blast-proof steel plate with a thickness of at least 2mm is installed between the pneumatic rod and the seat. This component can prevent fragments from flying in the event of a pneumatic rod explosion. Prioritize products with international safety certification marks such as SGS and TUV, as these products have passed high-pressure tests and offer greater safety assurance. If you notice scratches, dents on the surface of the pneumatic rod, or abnormal sounds during height adjustment, stop using the chair immediately and contact after-sales service for replacement.
