Office Chair Suede

Admin October 09, 2026

The suede material of office chairs offers high comfort, good texture, and excellent breathability, but it has drawbacks such as being prone to dirt, difficult to maintain, having average abrasion resistance, and being relatively costly. If hair gets stuck in the wheels, it can be resolved by disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly.

Characteristics of Suede Office Chairs

  • Advantages: Suede has a soft touch and provides a comfortable seating experience, making it suitable for long hours of office work. Its appearance features a delicate leather texture and luster, creating a luxurious feel and enhancing the quality of the office environment. Natural suede has good breathability, making it suitable for scenarios where a natural touch is desired, and it is less likely to feel stuffy even in summer.
  • Disadvantages: Suede tends to attract dust and hair, requiring frequent cleaning to avoid looking old and affecting aesthetics. Maintenance is challenging, requiring specialized cleaning agents and avoiding direct contact with water, which can cause the fluff to clump and fade, increasing maintenance costs and time. Although more abrasion-resistant than ordinary materials, it is still prone to damage under prolonged pressure or friction, affecting its lifespan. Genuine suede is relatively expensive, while imitation suede is cheaper but has a noticeable difference in texture, so budget considerations are necessary when choosing.

Suitable Scenarios

Suede office chairs are suitable for office environments that pursue a natural and warm touch, but they require regular care with specialized products and should avoid high-frequency use to prevent wear and tear. If the office environment is relatively clean and the user has sufficient time and energy for maintenance, a suede office chair is a good choice.

Cleaning Method for Hair Stuck in Wheels

If hair gets stuck in the wheels of an office chair, first turn the chair upside down and remove the wheels by hand or with a screwdriver (padded with a soft cloth). Then, use tweezers to remove the hair, brush the surface and bearing gaps with a neutral detergent, rinse with water, and dry. Finally, apply lubricating oil to the bearings, rotate evenly, and reassemble, testing for smoothness. Regular cleaning of the wheels can extend the lifespan of the office chair and improve comfort during use.
