Office Chair and Staff Chair Fixation
The fixation methods for the installation and sinking issues of office chairs and staff chairs can be divided into the following steps:

I. Installation Process for Fixing Office Chairs and Staff Chairs
Assembly of Chair Wheels and Five-Pronged Base
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-pronged base. After flipping the base, place the thicker end of the pneumatic rod against the center hole of the base to ensure a secure connection between the pneumatic rod and the base.Fixing the Base to the Seat Cushion
Place the base on the seat cushion, paying attention to its orientation. Align the four screw holes and then tighten the four screws by turning them 3-4 circles each before fully tightening them one by one to prevent base wobbling due to loose screws.Connecting the Seat Cushion to the Pneumatic Rod
Insert the seat cushion into the base hole aligned with the pneumatic rod, ensuring sufficient insertion depth to prevent separation between the seat cushion and the pneumatic rod.Backrest Installation
- Align the two sides of the bottom of the backrest with the installation positions on the armrests of the seat cushion and insert them. First, secure the bottom of the backrest with two C-screws from the bottom of the armrest brackets.
- Then, align the installation holes on the back of the backrest with those on the seat cushion bracket. Use two wrenches to lock the backrest to the seat cushion bracket with D-screws, ensuring the backrest is stable and does not wobble.
Armrest Installation
Press the button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. In some installations, three screws are required to fix the armrests, which should be tightened one by one to ensure stability.Headrest Installation
Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest, press the installation area of the headrest to make it fit the backrest better, and secure the headrest with two E-screws through the headrest fixing clips. Tighten the screws 3-4 circles first and then fully tighten them one by one to prevent the headrest from loosening.
II. Fixation Methods for Sinking Issues of Office Chairs
Using a Hose Clamp
- Slide the plastic skirt down from the cylinder and adjust the chair to a suitable height (the seat should be level with the knees when standing). If the plastic skirt covers the cylinder, remove it first (invert the chair, use a screwdriver to press the base fixing clip to remove the wheels and skirt, and then reinstall the wheels).
- Wrap the hose clamp around the cylinder, loosen the screw and pull out the belt end, and wrap it without fully tightening it for now. Improve the grip of the clamp by wrapping rubber bands, tape, or sanding the cylinder, and clean any dirty cylinders.
- Tighten the clamp, confirm the correct chair height, and then fix the screw. Test whether the chair slides down. If the height is incorrect, move the clamp up or down; if the clamp slides down, fix it with rubber strips or try the PVC pipe method.
Using PVC Pipes
- Measure the diameter of the cylinder and the length at the ideal height, and purchase a PVC pipe with the same or slightly larger diameter (a 1.5-inch pipe is suitable for most models). A plastic shower ring can also be used as an alternative (but it may not be sturdy enough).
- Fix the PVC pipe in a vise and saw it lengthwise (only on one side) with a hacksaw or reciprocating saw. It is recommended to wear a mask when cutting. If you don't have tools, you can keep the pipe intact, remove the wheels, and then slide and install it (use a screwdriver to press the bottom fixing clip to remove the wheel base).
- Push the cut side of the PVC pipe onto the cylinder to secure it and prevent the chair from sliding down.
