Small Fish Tank on Office Desk
An office desk is suitable for placing a small fish tank, but it must meet two key criteria: being quiet and small, and it should be suitable for raising certain small fish species.

Placement Location and Criteria
The space on an office desk is limited, so when placing a small fish tank, its size and the noise it generates during operation need to be considered. A small fish tank has a small volume and won't take up too much desk space, making it convenient to place on a workstation. At the same time, quietness is an important criterion because the office environment requires tranquility, and the noise generated by fish tank equipment during operation should not interfere with work. For example, equipment such as the fish tank's filtration system and aeration pump should be of good quality and low noise to ensure that no obvious sounds are produced during operation.
Small Fish Species Suitable for Breeding
- Neon Tetra: This fish is small in size, with a body length generally around 3 - 4 centimeters. Their bodies are brightly colored and will display beautiful red and green hues under the light, adding a touch of agility and vitality to the office desk. Moreover, neon tetras have a gentle temperament, are easy to raise, and are not overly demanding in terms of water quality, making them suitable for breeding in a small fish tank on an office desk.
- Cardinal Tetra: Similar to neon tetras, cardinal tetras are also small in size. They have a distinct blue stripe running along both sides of their bodies, resembling a cardinal's lamp, which is very beautiful. Cardinal tetras prefer to live in groups, and a group of them swimming in the fish tank creates a spectacular scene. They have a relatively strong ability to adapt to the environment and are relatively easy to keep alive as small fish.
- Zebrafish: Zebrafish get their name from the zebra-like stripes on their bodies. They have a relatively slender body shape, with a body length of about 4 - 6 centimeters. Zebrafish are lively and active, swimming quickly, and bringing vitality to the fish tank. This fish has a certain tolerance to changes in water temperature and water quality, making it relatively simple to raise.
- Mollies: Mollies are relatively larger among small fish but still fall within the small fish category, with a body length of up to 5 - 7 centimeters. They come in multiple varieties, with different varieties having different shapes and colors. Mollies like to swim in the middle and upper layers of the fish tank and have the habit of cleaning algae in the fish tank, helping to keep the tank clean.
- Guppies: Guppies are very popular small ornamental fish. The tails of male guppies are as colorful as a peacock's tail when it spreads, highly ornamental. Guppies have strong reproductive ability and grow relatively fast, making them suitable for breeding and viewing in a small fish tank on an office desk.
