Office Chair Punching Installation

Admin October 10, 2026

The punching installation of an office chair generally includes the following steps, and specific operations should be adjusted according to the product manual:

  1. Installation of Chair Wheels and Five-Pronged Base Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-pronged base, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and rotates flexibly. For some models, pay attention to whether the direction of the wheels is consistent to avoid obstruction of sliding after installation. If the five-pronged base and wheels are of a snap-fit design, listen for a 'click' sound to confirm that they are securely in place.

  2. Installation of the Pneumatic Rod Vertically insert the thicker end of the pneumatic rod into the central hole of the five-pronged base, ensuring sufficient insertion depth and no tilting. The pneumatic rod is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so avoid scratching the surface coating during installation. For some models, check whether there is a non-slip pad or limit ring at the bottom of the pneumatic rod and install it according to the manual's requirements.

  3. Installation of the Seat Base and Cushion Place the seat base at the bottom of the cushion, paying attention to distinguishing the front and back directions (usually, the seat base has markings or grooves corresponding to the cushion structure). After aligning the screw holes, use a screwdriver to sequentially insert and tighten the screws to ensure a secure connection between the seat base and cushion. For some models, use washers or spring washers to prevent the screws from loosening.

  4. Connection of the Cushion and Pneumatic Rod Align the installation hole at the bottom of the cushion with the top of the pneumatic rod and press down vertically until fully embedded. For some models, rotate the cushion about 30 degrees to lock the snap-fit or adjust the tightness through the knob on the seat base. After installation, test whether the seat's lifting function is normal.

  5. Installation of the Backrest Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest installation holes on both sides of the cushion, insert one side first and preliminarily fix it with screws from the bottom of the armrest bracket, then adjust the other side to align and tighten the screws. Subsequently, align the installation holes at the back of the backrest with those on the cushion bracket and use a wrench to lock and fix them with screws. The screw specifications must strictly match the requirements in the manual (e.g., M6*25mm) to avoid structural instability due to incorrect models.

  6. Installation of the Armrests Press the button below the armrest surface (some models do not have a button design), insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively, ensuring consistent insertion depth. Fix the upper and lower parts of the armrests with screws (e.g., M620mm or M825mm), put on washers and tighten them, and finally install decorative covers to conceal the screw holes. After installation, check whether the armrests are level and do not wobble.

  7. Installation of the Headrest Align the bottom of the headrest with the installation slot at the top of the backrest and press down vertically until the snap-fit is fully embedded. For some models, use screws (e.g., M6*30mm) to pass through the headrest's fixing snap-fit and connect it to the backrest, ensuring that the screws are tightened but not over-tightened. After installation, adjust the height of the headrest to a comfortable position.

Precautions: Before installation, check all accessories to avoid missing screws or washers; when using an electric screwdriver, control the torque to prevent slipping of the screws; if there is a hole misalignment or component jamming, do not force the installation and contact after-sales service for handling.
