Office Chair Noon Break Methods

Admin October 19, 2026

If your company doesn't have a flat-lying sleeping chair and your office chair can't be adjusted in angle, you can try the following noon break methods:

Utilize the Existing Office Chair

For office chairs that can't be adjusted in angle, although there may not be detailed instructions for lazy noon break methods, you can try some basic postures. For example, lean your body slightly backward, let your back fit against the chair back, rest your head on the chair back, place your hands naturally on the armrests or cross them over your abdomen, straighten or slightly bend your legs, and relax your whole body muscles. However, this posture may not fully meet the needs for a comfortable noon break, and maintaining it for a long time may cause soreness in some parts of your body.

Choose a Reclining Chair that Can Be Flattened

Take the Bajiujian C6 reclining chair as an example. It has four adjustable levels and can be reclined up to 180 degrees. Its integrated chair back design is reasonable. After pulling out the footrest, the soft-pack material provides a sitting feeling similar to a sofa, with a strong sense of enclosure. Using this kind of reclining chair allows you to be in a relatively relaxed lying position during the noon break, effectively reducing body pressure and improving the quality of the noon break.

Transform the Noon Break Environment with Other Items

  • Long air bubble columns: Collect four or five long air bubble columns left over from unwrapping express deliveries. Spread them out under your office desk at noon. These air bubble columns are soft and have a certain degree of support. They can also insulate against the cold and prevent moisture, providing a relatively comfortable ground environment for the noon break.
  • Cardboard boxes and boards: Pick up a large cardboard box and tear it open, then lay it flat on the ground. If the company's floor is carpeted, it can further reduce the cold feeling, easily creating a temporary noon break area.
  • Egg crate mats: As camping equipment, they are inexpensive and usually come with a small cushion. Fold them up to use as a pillow. Spread them on the ground at noon. Their concave-convex patterns provide good support, making it less likely to feel sore in the waist after lying down for a long time. They also have good resilience and are easy to store when folded.
  • Picnic mats: They have the characteristics of moisture-proofing and cold insulation. Spread them on the ground, and they are soft. With a pillow, you can sleep very comfortably. After sleeping, roll them up and stuff them into a cabinet, which is very convenient for storage.
  • Yoga mats: They are thick enough and won't make you feel uncomfortable. When rolled up, they are thin and can be stuffed into gaps in your workstation. Laying them on the ground directly at noon every day is also a good choice.
  • Two office chairs: If you don't want to lie on the ground, you can pull your office chair back to the maximum distance at your workstation and try to transform it into a semi-lying position to meet certain noon break needs.
