Office Chair Materials
The materials used in making office chairs mainly include seat cushions, backrests, bottom frames, springs, support steel bars, leather, foam, chassis, pneumatic rods, chair wheels, chair feet, and other components, as detailed below:

The seat cushion is the main area of direct contact between the office chair and the human body, and its materials are diverse. Typically, a wooden board is used as the foundational support structure, providing stable load-bearing capacity. On top of the wooden board, sponge is laid to increase comfort, with the density and thickness of the sponge adjusted according to different needs. The choice of fabric for the seat cushion is also quite rich, with common options including hemp, mesh, and leather. Hemp fabric offers good breathability, suitable for prolonged use; mesh fabric has excellent elasticity, providing good support; and leather fabric has a high-end feel and is easy to clean.
The design of the backrest focuses on ergonomics to provide good support for the waist and back. Its frame may be made of a steel frame or a plastic frame, with the steel frame being sturdy and durable and the plastic frame being relatively lightweight. The surface of the backrest often combines mesh fabric, a combination that ensures both breathability and sufficient elastic support.
The bottom frame is an important support structure for the office chair, generally formed by bending No. 14 steel pipes. Using a hydraulic press, thumb-thick steel pipes are bent into the seat frame to ensure the stability and strength of the frame.
For the springs, office chairs commonly use S-shaped steel springs, which provide good elasticity and cushioning for the seat, enhancing user comfort. Support steel bars are used to support the mechanism for adjusting the seat position, ensuring smooth and stable seat adjustments.
Leather materials are often used to cover the seat surface, which, after smoothing and cutting, can exhibit a high-end texture. Foam is used in different types in different parts, with the cushioning part typically using relatively firm foam to provide better support.
The chassis is commonly a metal chassis with a mechanical explosion-proof mechanism to ensure safety during use. The pneumatic rod is used to adjust the height of the office chair, with a stroke of up to 80mm, allowing users to adjust it according to their own needs. The chair wheels are mostly made of PA material, supporting omnidirectional rotation and making the office chair more flexible to move. The chair feet are generally made of nylon material, which is sturdy and durable.
In addition, office chairs may also be equipped with other components such as lumbar spine support, armrest attachments, wood chip boards, plastic covers, aluminum bases, and car-style headrests to meet the needs of different users and enhance the user experience.
