Admin October 09, 2026

The office chair lift tray is a crucial component of office chairs, available in various types, with specific installation and troubleshooting methods.

Types

There are diverse types of office chair lift trays. The lift tray for swivel chairs with tails features a hardware base, suitable for modern minimalist-style office chairs or home chairs, providing stable support and lift functionality. The high-quality lift tray for office swivel chairs is specifically designed for lift swivel chairs such as butterfly executive gaming chairs, aligning more closely with the structure and usage requirements of these chairs. The thickened explosion-proof lift tray for swivel chairs is applicable to lift chairs like executive boss chairs, with its thickened design enhancing safety and durability, and the explosion-proof feature ensuring user safety.

Installation

Taking the P600 computer chair as an example, when installing the tray to connect to the seat cushion, identify the front and rear ends of the tray. The shorter end is the rear end and should be on the right-hand side when seated. Use four short screws (specification: 6ร—20) to secure the tray to the seat cushion. During installation, precisely align the tray with the screw holes on the seat cushion, then use a wrench to tighten the screws one by one to ensure a firm connection. After that, insert the gas rod into the round hole of the tray to complete this crucial step, enabling the chair to have lift functionality.

Troubleshooting and Repair

If the office chair lift tray shows issues such as tilting or inability to lift, it can be disassembled and repaired or replaced. First, prepare a rubber mallet, turn the chair upside down on the ground, remove the screws fixing the bottom tray to separate it from the seat cushion. Then, disassemble the base, gas rod, and chair legs to carefully inspect the fault location. When disassembling the base, hold it upside down with one hand and strike specific positions on the base with the rubber mallet. If the gas rod is suspected to be the problem, turn the chair upside down and strike the bottom of the gas rod flatly with the side of a hammer. It should be noted that only gas rods with relevant system certifications such as SGS and TUV should be recognized to ensure their quality and safety.
