Office Chair Leg Replacement

Admin October 09, 2026

The methods for replacing office chair legs vary depending on the type of chair, as detailed below:

Replacement of Footrests for Sihoo C Series C300/C500

The footrests of the Sihoo C Series C300/C500 are secured with three screws. To replace them, use an appropriate screwdriver to remove each screw one by one. During disassembly, pay attention to the specifications and positions of the screws to avoid losing or mixing them up. After removing the screws, take off the old footrest, install the new one, and then tighten the screws back in place.

Replacement of Footrests with Snap-in Ball Bearings

Some chairs have footrests designed with snap-in ball bearings, typically located beneath the front of the seat cushion. To replace them, gently pull the footrest with one hand while pressing the ball bearing with the other hand to release the snap. This allows the footrest to be removed. When installing the new footrest, align it with the mounting position; a clicking sound indicates that the snap is securely engaged, and the footrest is installed.

Disassembly and Replacement of Office Chair Five-star Bases

  • Method 1: Step on the five-star base frame with one foot while holding both sides of the seat cushion with both hands. Rock the cushion side to side while lifting upwards. If there is no response initially, repeat the steps by holding the other sides of the cushion until the five-star base is removed.
  • Method 2: Gently lay the chair on its side on the ground and check beneath the central column for a flat washer retaining clip. If present, use an appropriate tool to remove the clip, then pull out the old five-star base and replace it with a new one. If there is no retaining clip, the five-star base is conically pressed onto the steel column by weight. In this case, gently tap the five-star base with a hammer to loosen it, then install the new one.

Installation of F28 New Slanted-leg Chair Feet

First, unscrew the reserved screws on the footrest frame. Then, align one side of the frame with the steel tube on the other side and insert it, tightening the reserved screws sequentially with a wrench. Next, align the angle iron with the holes on the foot pedal and secure it with four short, thin screws, tightening them sequentially with a wrench. Then, align the other side of the angle iron with the holes on the footrest frame and secure it with four medium-thickness screws. Insert the knob into the hole on the footrest frame. Subsequent steps include securing the armrests to the backrest and seat cushion, and attaching the footrest frame to the seat cushion. After installation, adjust the height of the chair feet by rotating the knob; if the chair feet wobble, install foot pads to level them.
