Removing the Legs of an Office Chair
The method for removing the legs of an office chair varies depending on its structure. Here are the common structures and corresponding removal methods:

Removing a Direct-Insert Five-Star Base If the five-star base is of a direct-insert structure, you can first try the conventional shaking and lifting method: Step on the five-star base with one foot to keep it stable, grasp both sides of the seat cushion with your hands, shake it left and right while lifting it upwards, and repeat this action until the chair legs loosen. If they do not loosen, repeat the operation on the other sides of the seat cushion. If it still cannot be disassembled, invert the chair and check if there is a flat washer retaining clip at the bottom of the central column: If there is, use a tool to remove the retaining clip and then pull out the old five-star base; if there is no retaining clip, it means the five-star base is pressed against the steel column through a conical structure. In this case, use a rubber mallet to gently tap the edge of the five-star base to separate it from the steel column using vibration. If the metal rod of the chair leg is directly inserted into the hole of the five-star base, grasp the root of the chair leg, shake it slightly left and right while lifting it upwards, and tap the joint with a rubber mallet to speed up the separation. If there is an anti-loosening retaining clip at the metal joint, use needle-nose pliers to clamp the raised end of the retaining clip and remove it before disassembly.
Removing Screw-Fixed Chair Legs For screw-fixed structures, first observe the type of screws at the connection between the chair legs and the base: If they are exposed hexagonal screws, use theๆ ้ (standard-equipped) hexagonal wrench to turn them counterclockwise and loosen them; if they are cross or flat-head screws, choose the corresponding screwdriver for disassembly. Pay attention to the force when disassembling to avoid stripping the screws due to excessive force. If the screws are already stripped, use needle-nose pliers to clamp the head of the screw to assist in holding it in place while using a screwdriver to turn it out in the reverse direction.
Removing Quick-Release Interface Chair Legs Some brands of chair legs adopt a quick-release design. Such structures usually have an unlock button at the bottom of the chair legs. To disassemble, simply press the unlock button and lift the chair legs upwards at the same time to complete the separation. Before operation, confirm the position of the unlock button to avoid damage due to incorrect force direction.
Precautions It is recommended to place the chair on a soft surface (such as a carpet) before disassembly to avoid scratching the floor or the chair legs. If excessive resistance is encountered during disassembly, do not force the operation. Instead, check if there are any retaining clips, screws, or other fasteners that have not been removed. If you are not familiar with the structure, refer to the product manual or contact after-sales service for guidance.
