Office Chair Installation Tips

Admin October 10, 2026

Office chairs should be installed following standardized steps, with core techniques as follows:

1. Installation of Five-Star Base and Casters
Insert the five casters vertically into the mounting holes of the five-star base one by one, ensuring that the caster clips are fully embedded in the holes to prevent loosening. After installation, gently push the five-star base to test if the casters rotate smoothly. If there is any stuttering, readjust the angles.

2. Installation of Gas Lift
Select the thicker end of the gas lift and insert it vertically into the center hole of the five-star base. After insertion, gently press the top of the gas lift with your hand to confirm it is fixed. Note: The gas lift must be fully inserted to the bottom; otherwise, it may cause the seat cushion to tilt or the gas pressure adjustment to fail.

3. Connection of Seat Base and Cushion
Align the screw holes of the seat base with the corresponding holes on the bottom of the cushion. Initially screw in four B screws (some models use M6 specifications) 3-4 turns, then tighten them one by one until they cannot wobble. Key Point: The seat base must be kept level to avoid subsequent cushion tilt due to unilateral force.

4. Connection of Cushion and Gas Lift
Align the center hole at the bottom of the cushion with the top of the gas lift and press down vertically until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating that the connection is in place. If there is a misalignment between the gas lift and the cushion hole, slightly rotate the cushion to adjust the angle; do not forcefully press it.

5. Installation of Backrest

  • Method One (Split Backrest): Align the bottom of the backrest with the holes on the armrest brackets on both sides of the cushion. First, fix the backrest with two C screws from the bottom of the armrests, then use D screws to lock them with double wrenches (i.e., tighten the screws on both sides alternately) to prevent the backrest from shifting.
  • Method Two (Integrated Backrest): Insert the backrest into the tray slot and fix it with three 8x25 coarse screws and washers. When tightening, use a wrench to hold the tray to prevent the screws from slipping.

6. Installation of Armrests
Align the screw holes of the armrests with the holes on the backrest or seat brackets, insert washers, and secure them with nuts. Some designs require pressing the button below the armrest surface to insert it into the hole. After installation, test if the armrest rotation or lifting functions are flexible.

7. Installation of Headrest (if applicable)
Press the metal rod of the headrest into the clip at the top center of the backrest, and secure it by passing two E screws through the fixed clip and tightening them, ensuring the headrest is adjustable but not loose.

8. Function Testing

  • Adjust the gas lift to test if the seat height adjustment is smooth, and check if the multi-level adjustment of the backrest, armrest rotation/retraction, and cushion sliding functions are normal.
  • Test the footrest extension function (if applicable) to confirm there is no stuttering or abnormal noise.

Precautions:

  • Tighten screws in stages: All screws should be initially screwed in 3-4 turns, then tightened one by one to avoid unilateral force causing component tilt.
  • Check the้…ไปถ (accessory) list: Before installation, check if the number of casters, screw specifications (such as distinguishing between B/C/D screws), and the number of washers match. Missing accessories may lead to structural instability.
  • Collaboration for complex structures: For office chairs with headrests and multi-functional adjustments, it is recommended to refer to video tutorials or work in pairs to avoid damaging components due to insufficient operating space.
