Office Chair Installation Standards

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation standards for office chairs typically cover the following key steps, which must be carried out strictly in sequence to ensure safety and stability:

1. Install Casters and Chair Base
First, install each caster into the pre-drilled holes on the chair base, ensuring that each caster is fully embedded and free from looseness. After installation, insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair base, confirming that the bottom of the gas lift is in tight contact with the base to prevent tilting or wobbling. The gas lift, as the core component for adjusting seat height, directly affects usage safety based on its vertical installation accuracy.

2. Secure the Seat Plate and Seat
Align the seat plate with the seat, paying attention to the orientation of the seat plate (usually marked with 'front' or 'back' indicators). Use the provided screws to sequentially pass through the screw holes on the seat plate and seat, lightly tightening each screw 3-4 turns initially. After all screws are preliminarily fixed, tighten them one by one until fully secured. Avoid applying excessive force on one side during this step to prevent the seat plate from tilting and affecting subsequent assembly.

3. Connect the Backrest and Seat
After the seat is fixed, proceed with backrest installation. First, use screws to secure the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest brackets, ensuring that the screws penetrate the connection holes between the brackets and the backrest. Then, align the back of the backrest with the mounting holes on the seat cushion brackets and use two wrenches for dual-locking: one wrench to hold the screw head and the other to rotate the nut until the screw is fully tightened. This step ensures that the backrest is firmly connected to the seat to prevent looseness during use.

4. Install the Seat Assembly and Gas Lift
Align the assembled seat assembly (including the backrest) with the top of the gas lift and press down vertically to fully embed the base into the gas lift. Confirm that there are no gaps at the connection between the base and the gas lift and that the seat can be raised and lowered smoothly. If the gas lift has an adjustment knob, test its flexibility to ensure that the height adjustment function works properly.

5. Install Armrests and Headrest
When installing the armrests, press the button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes on the armrest brackets respectively. A 'click' sound indicates that the installation is complete. For headrest installation, place it in the middle position at the top of the backrest, press the headrest installation area to fit it against the backrest, and then use screws to pass through the headrest fixing clips, lightly tightening each screw 3-4 turns initially, and then tightening them one by one until the headrest is firmly secured without wobbling.

Precautions:

  • All screws must be tightened using the provided tools to avoid stripping or excessive force that could damage components.
  • After installation, thoroughly check the connection points of all components for firmness and test the seat's lifting, rotation, and backrest tilt functions for normal operation.
  • If any components are found to be missing or mismatched in size during installation, immediately contact the supplier for replacement and do not force assembly.
