Office Chairs in Nucleic Acid Testing

Admin October 22, 2026

Office chairs are generally not directly used as tools for nucleic acid testing operations, but they can serve as components for temporary rest or the construction of testing facilities in epidemic prevention work.

In epidemic prevention efforts, office chairs have some special application scenarios. On one hand, they can be used as temporary rest equipment for staff. Taking Fuming Subdistrict in Ningbo, Zhejiang as an example, the staff of the epidemic prevention and control data task force worked continuously for as long as 19 hours. Considering that there might be a large amount of data to be distributed at night, they voluntarily gave up going home to rest. In this situation, office chairs played an important role. The staff used the chairs to temporarily form beds and slept beside the computers so that they could promptly handle subsequent data tasks that might arrive. This demonstrates the auxiliary role of office chairs in ensuring that staff can get a short rest in a special work environment, thereby maintaining their energy for subsequent work.

On the other hand, office chairs can also be used to build testing facilities. The Green Home Neighborhood Committee in Jinhui Town, Fengxian District, when DIYing a "mobile nucleic acid testing vehicle", placed office desks and chairs on a tricycle. This approach was mainly to meet the demand for "door-to-door service" nucleic acid testing. By reasonably arranging office desks and chairs on the tricycle, it provided a relatively stable work platform for the testing personnel, facilitating them to carry testing equipment and tools and better carry out door-to-door testing work.

However, it should be made clear that whether used as temporary rest equipment or for building testing facilities, office chairs are not tools directly used in the nucleic acid testing operation process. Nucleic acid testing operations require professional equipment and standardized operating procedures, and office chairs do not have the functions and characteristics to directly participate in nucleic acid testing operations.
