Office Chair Five Casters Installation Guide
The installation of five casters on an office chair typically involves the following steps:

Step 1: Install the casters with the five-star base upside down
Flip the five-star base of the office chair (the five-claw support structure) upside down, ensuring the installation surface is flat and free of debris. Insert the five casters one by one into the wheel holes of the five-star base. Some casters may require slight rotation or pressing to be fully embedded. Pay attention to the direction of the casters to ensure the wheels can rotate freely and the contact surface with the ground is flat, preventing jamming or tilting after installation.
Step 2: Insert the gas lift into the five-star base
After installing the casters, take the gas lift (usually made of metal, with one end thicker and the other thinner). Insert the thicker end of the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the five-star base, keeping the gas lift perpendicular to the five-star base to avoid instability caused by misalignment. After insertion, gently press the top of the gas lift to confirm it is tightly connected to the five-star base without any looseness or wobbling. The gas lift is the core component for the height adjustment function of the office chair, so ensure its surface is free of scratches or deformation during installation, as these may affect the smoothness of height adjustment.
Step 3: Install and secure other components
Depending on the model, after installing the casters and gas lift, the office chair may require further assembly of components such as the seat cushion, backrest, and armrests. For example:
- Seat cushion installation: Align the hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it. Some seat cushions may need to be secured with screws or clips;
- Backrest installation: If the backrest is a separate component, insert its connecting rod into the reserved holes at the back of the five-star base or seat cushion and tighten it with screws;
- Armrest installation: Align the armrests with the mounting positions on both sides of the seat cushion and secure them with screws or pins. Ensure the armrests are at the same height and free of looseness.
Installation precautions:
- Tool preparation: Some steps may require a screwdriver or wrench. Having the corresponding tools ready in advance can improve efficiency;
- Component alignment: Ensure the holes of all components are aligned during installation to avoid forcing assembly, which may cause screw stripping or component cracking;
- Safety inspection: After installation, check that all screws are tightened, the casters rotate smoothly, and the gas lift adjusts smoothly. Ensure the chair is free of tilting or abnormal noises before use.
If you encounter mismatched components or difficulties during installation, refer to the product manual or contact after-sales service for model-specific installation instructions.
