Office Chair Fitness Dance
"Office Chair Fitness Dance" is a fitness method that utilizes office chairs, also known as office chair aerobics or chair exercises. It is primarily aimed at people who sit for long periods, aiming to strengthen the waist, abdominal, and lower limb muscle groups, and alleviate issues such as lower back pain caused by prolonged sitting.

The design of chair exercises revolves around the chair and includes various training units. In terms of basic movements, there is the hip lift while sitting on the edge of the chair. The specific method is to sit on the edge of the chair with your thighs and calves at a right angle, place your hands apart under your buttocks to support your body, lift your buttocks off the chair, keep your back straight, and tighten your buttocks. There is also scapular retraction, where you sit on the chair, straighten your body, use your shoulders to pull your back muscles tight, bring your shoulder blades together, hold the position for 4 to 6 seconds, and repeat 4 to 8 times.
For other types of movements, chair exercises include neck stretches, which can effectively relax neck muscles and relieve neck fatigue; turning and looking back movements, which can mobilize the waist joints and enhance waist flexibility; and Russian twist with object passing, which has a good exercise effect on the core muscle groups of the waist and abdomen. These movements involve training forms such as stretching and twisting, and some movements require maintaining a static posture and repeating a specific number of times.
Regarding differences between versions, different versions of chair exercises may vary in the number of movements and auxiliary tools. For example, the version promoted by the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau includes 11 standard movements, and some of the movement designs take into account the safety needs of the elderly and those with mobility issues. Reasonable adjustments have been made in terms of movement range and difficulty to ensure that different groups of people can exercise safely and effectively.
People who sit for long periods can improve their body's blood circulation, enhance muscle strength, increase body flexibility and coordination, and play a positive role in preventing and relieving various physical discomforts caused by prolonged sitting by regularly performing chair exercises.
