Office Chair Fabric Selection
Selecting office chair fabric requires a comprehensive assessment based on material properties, usage scenarios, and budget. Common fabrics include natural textiles, velvet-textured materials, synthetic and functional fabrics, faux leather and tech fabrics, and leather types. Here are the specific selection points:

Natural Textiles: Cotton fabric is soft, absorbent, and comfortable to the touch, making it easy to clean. Linen fabric has a rustic and natural appearance, with high environmental friendliness, suitable for minimalist, Chinese, or modern styles. However, traditional pure cotton or pure linen fabrics have insufficient durability, are prone to pilling, and difficult to clean stains. Cotton-linen blended fabrics combine the advantages of both, with a more stable structure, improved wear resistance, and reduced pilling. Families with pets can choose thickened fabrics for better scratch resistance.
Velvet-Textured Materials: Velvet fabrics like chenille have a plush surface, providing a comfortable feel and enhancing the space's elegance and warmth. They offer good warmth retention and are suitable for leisure chairs or single sofas in bedrooms and living rooms. For cleaning, use a soft-bristled brush to gently brush along the nap direction or a vacuum cleaner to remove dust daily. For localized stains, use a slightly damp soft cloth dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent to gently wipe, then use a vacuum cleaner to remove moisture and allow it to dry. Avoid large-area water washing. For deep cleaning, it is recommended to entrust it to a professional dry cleaner.
Synthetic and Functional Fabrics: Oxford cloth and canvas are durable and wear-resistant, with Oxford cloth offering better breathability. Mesh fabric provides extreme breathability and coolness, widely used in office chairs and gaming chairs, but has relatively weak support. When selecting, pay attention to flatness, color difference, and physical properties. PVC materials or T/C cotton blends are waterproof and stain-resistant, suitable for scenarios requiring high stain and water resistance. Ordinary chemical fiber blended fabrics offer high cost-effectiveness, are washable and wear-resistant, and are commonly used in commercial fields like hotel chair covers.
Faux Leather and Tech Fabrics: Genuine leather is luxurious, durable, and easy to clean, but expensive and requires more maintenance. Faux leather is economical, wear-resistant, easy to clean, and not prone to deformation, but has poor breathability. Microfiber leather closely resembles genuine leather in feel and breathability, with excellent performance, but has a higher investment cost. Tech fabric adopts a structure of 'faux leather texture on the surface + fabric base layer'.
Leather Types: Soft leather includes faux leather, genuine leather, and velvet. When selecting, test the feel, appearance, and durability. Hard leather is mainly made of high-quality synthetic leather, with strong environmental adaptability, high cost-effectiveness, and better durability than soft leather.
When making a comprehensive selection, in terms of budget, hard leather is the most expensive, followed by soft leather, and mesh fabric is the most economical. For usage scenarios, office scenarios can choose hard leather or high-quality soft leather, family scenarios can choose mesh fabric or velvet soft leather, and humid/high-temperature environments should prioritize mesh fabric or hard leather. For feel testing, actually touch and check the surface smoothness, elasticity, and odor. At the same time, be wary of low-price traps, check the stitching workmanship, and request material certificates.
