Office Chair Fabric

Admin October 08, 2026

The common types and characteristics of office chair fabrics are as follows:

Non-woven Fabric: Non-woven fabric is a relatively economical option among office chair fabrics. It is formed by pressing polyester or polypropylene fibers at high temperatures, a process that gives it good breathability, allowing air to circulate freely between the fabric layers and reducing the feeling of stuffiness. Additionally, non-woven fabric is biodegradable, making it more environmentally friendly. However, it also has some drawbacks; its durability is relatively poor, and after three to five years of use, it may start to shed particles, affecting the appearance and user experience of the office chair.

High-Density Polyester: High-density polyester fabric resembles a tightly woven fishing net, with a weight of over 100 grams per square meter. This high-density structure endows it with excellent durability, enabling it to withstand significant pulling forces without deforming. In humid environments, high-density polyester does not mold, making it highly suitable for use in heated floors and during the rainy season in southern regions. Moreover, black high-density polyester fabric is dirt-resistant, has firm dyeing, and does not fade easily. It also effectively prevents dust from floating and scratching floor tiles, contributing to a clean office environment.

Leather: Leather fabric is commonly found in executive chairs and is often made from PU leather or genuine leather. PU leather is a type of artificial leather that is relatively inexpensive and easy to clean and maintain. Genuine leather, on the other hand, has a natural texture and good breathability but comes at a higher price. Leather office chairs convey a sense of luxury and sophistication and are primarily used in large and medium-sized executive chairs, enhancing the overall ambiance of the office environment.

Mesh Fabric: Mesh fabric has excellent breathability, making it a popular choice for small office chairs, especially during summer. In hot weather, mesh fabric allows air to circulate freely, keeping the body dry and reducing feelings of stuffiness and discomfort.

Elastic Milk Silk: Elastic milk silk can be used to make printed chair covers for offices, homes, and hotels. It has a certain degree of elasticity, allowing it to conform to the shape of the chair, while its soft texture provides a comfortable touch for users.

Sandwich Mesh Fabric: Sandwich mesh fabric has elasticity and is commonly used to make office chair cushions. Its multi-layer structure provides good support and cushioning, reducing fatigue caused by prolonged sitting.
