Office Chair and Electric Chair Installation

Admin October 11, 2026

The installation of an office chair generally follows a bottom-up sequence. Here are the detailed installation steps:

First, install the five-star base and casters. Align the casters with the holes in the five-star base and press evenly to ensure each caster is firmly embedded. Typically, five casters need to be installed one by one. After installation, check if the casters rotate smoothly and are not loose. This step is the foundational support structure of the office chair and must be installed securely to avoid wobbling or detachment during subsequent use.

Next, install the gas lift. Insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the five-star base, ensuring sufficient insertion depth and a tight fit with the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the height of the office chair. Pay attention to its orientation during installation; usually, the end with a marking should face upwards. If the gas lift is installed crookedly, it may cause abnormal lifting function or pose safety hazards.

Then, assemble the seat base. Insert the other end of the gas lift into the central hole of the seat base and then flip the seat base to an upright position. At this point, check if the connection between the gas lift and the seat base is tight to avoid tilting or detachment of the base. Some seat bases may come with adjustment knobs or function buttons; after installation, confirm that they operate smoothly to prepare for subsequent use.

The next step is to install the backrest. Align the slanted part of the backrest with the pins on the seat base and slowly push it in until it is fully engaged. Some backrests may need to be fixed with screws; in this case, use the provided tools to tighten the screws to ensure a firm connection between the backrest and the seat base. The installation angle of the backrest should conform to ergonomic design. After installation, check its stability to avoid wobbling during use.

After that, install the armrests. Align the upper and lower armrests with the reserved holes on the seat base or backrest and press evenly until they are fully embedded. Then, use a screwdriver to tighten the fixing screws on both sides. The installation of the armrests should be symmetrical left and right, and the screws should be tightened to an appropriate torque to avoid looseness due to being too loose or damage to the components due to being too tight. Some armrests may have adjustment functions; after installation, test their flexibility.

Finally, perform wiring connections (applicable only to electric office chairs). Connect the backrest, function wires, and power wires in sequence, ensuring that the wire interfaces match correctly and are firmly connected. After connection, check if the wires are neat to avoid tangling or squeezing. Finally, power on and test whether all functions are normal, such as lifting, tilting, and massage. If poor wire contact or abnormal function is found, recheck the connections or contact after-sales service.
