Office Chair Dormitory Installation

Admin October 11, 2026

The installation steps of an office chair in a dormitory can be divided into three core stages: base component installation, seat cushion and backrest connection, and armrest and headrest installation. Special attention should be paid to the orientation of components and the gradual tightening of screws. Here are the specific operations:

1. Base Component Installation
First, handle the connection between the chair wheels and the five-claw base: Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw base one by one. After ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded, flip the five-claw base so that the wheels face downward. Then, place the thicker end of the gas lift rod vertically against the center hole of the five-claw base. This step requires confirming that the gas lift rod is fully in contact with the base to avoid wobbling during subsequent use. If the chair design includes a crossbar (such as some ergonomic chairs or mahjong chairs), align the notched position of the crossbar with the two larger holes in the five-claw base. At this time, the screws only need to be initially fixed, and do not tighten them completely. After the overall structure is assembled, tighten them uniformly to prevent rework due to misalignment of components.

2. Seat Cushion and Backrest Connection
Place the base plate at the bottom of the seat cushion, adjust it to align with the edge of the seat cushion, and then use 4 B-type screws to tighten them in stages after aligning the screw holes: First, tighten each screw 3-4 turns, and then fully fix them after confirming that there is no offset between the base plate and the seat cushion. This operation can prevent the base plate from tilting due to unilateral force. The backrest installation requires two steps: First, use 2 C-type screws to pass through the bottom of the armrest bracket to fix the connection between the backrest and the armrests; then use D-type screws to lock the back of the backrest with the seat cushion bracket. This step requires two people to cooperate or the use of two wrenches, one to fix the screw head and the other to rotate the nut, ensuring that the backrest is perpendicular to the seat cushion and there are no gaps.

3. Armrest and Headrest Installation
For armrest installation, press the elastic button below the armrest surface and insert the armrest vertically into the bracket holes on the side of the seat cushion. A clicking sound indicates that the buckle is in place. For headrest installation, place it in the middle position at the top of the backrest and connect it to the backrest through 2 E-type screws passing through the fixed buckles. Also, tighten them in stages: First, initially fix it and check if the headrest is level, and then fully tighten the screws. If the height of the headrest is adjustable, confirm that the adjustment lever is in the lowest position before installation to avoid insufficient space for operation after installation.

Special Scenario Tips: The dormitory space is limited. Before installation, clear the ground debris to prevent the chair wheels from colliding with objects when rolling. If the chair type is an ergonomic chair or a mahjong chair, focus on checking whether the direction of the crossbar is consistent with the instructions to avoid structural instability caused by inverted components. All screws must be fully tightened in the end, especially the connection between the gas lift rod and the five-claw base, to prevent them from falling off during use and causing safety hazards. It is recommended to refer to the product's accompanying instructions first, as some brands may have special requirements for screw types or installation sequences.
