Installing Cushions on Office Chairs
Admin October 09, 2026
The methods for installing cushions on office chairs vary depending on the situation, mainly divided into replacing old seat cushions and installing new computer chair cushions.

Replacing Old Seat Cushions
- Measure Dimensions: Before starting the replacement, measure the dimensions of the mounting holes. This is a crucial step to ensure that the new cushion can be accurately installed. Only with matching dimensions can the new cushion be firmly mounted on the chair, avoiding wobbling or installation issues.
- Remove Old Cushion: Flip the chair over and use an Allen wrench to unscrew the screws securing the base and armrests. During disassembly, be sure to keep the screws safe to prevent loss. After removing the old cushion, inspect the chair base and armrests for any damage or wear, and repair or replace them promptly if necessary.
- Install New Cushion: Place the new cushion in the appropriate position, align the chair base with the cushion, and match the screw holes. Then, screw in the screws, attach the armrests, and adjust the tightness of the screws. The screws should not be overtightened to avoid damaging the cushion or chair components, nor should they be too loose, as this would make the cushion unstable.
Installing New Computer Chair Cushions (Taking the W9005 Hollow-out Computer Chair as an Example)
- Install Casters and Gas Lift: Insert the five casters into the five-star base one by one, ensuring they are firmly installed. Then, insert the gas lift into the five-star base and gently press down to ensure a tight connection between the gas lift and the base.
- Secure Armrests: Use six long, thin screws to secure the armrests to the cushion, tightening the screws one by one with a wrench. When tightening the screws, ensure even force to prevent the armrests from tilting or becoming loose.
- Secure Tray: Use four short, thin screws to secure the tray to the cushion, making sure the screws are tightened to ensure a stable connection between the tray and the cushion.
- Install Backrest: First, place a washer on the screw, then use three thick screws to secure the backrest to the tray. The washer acts as a buffer and protection, preventing direct contact between the screw and the tray, which could cause wear.
- Connect Cushion and Gas Lift: Align the cushion tray with the gas lift and insert it, ensuring it is fully inserted so that the cushion can move up and down and rotate normally.
- Install Headrest Hanger: Use two medium-sized screws to secure the headrest hanger to the backrest, completing the entire installation process.
