Office Chair Crack Repair
Office chair crack repair should be carried out according to the material type, with the following specific methods:

Solid Wood Office Chairs
- Basic Repair: Clear away dust, wood shavings, and other debris from the cracks. Mix wood powder with white glue in a 3:1 ratio to form a paste. Fill the paste into the cracks and press it down firmly with a toothpick. After it has completely dried (about 24 hours), sand it smooth with fine sandpaper. Finally, touch up with a wood paint or color-matching pen of the same color system.
- Reinforcement Treatment: If the crack is large, first drive small wooden wedges into the crack for reinforcement, and then fill it with the mixture to enhance its firmness.
- Repair with Special Materials: For fine hairline cracks, use woodworking-specific wood putty for filling. For wider or deeper cracks, use wood epoxy resin glue. When filling, the material should be 1-2 millimeters higher than the chair surface. After it dries, sand it smooth and then touch up with wood wax oil or paint according to the wood color.
Engineered Wood (MDF, Particle Board) Office Chairs
- Moisture-Proof Repair: Avoid using excessive water. After cleaning the cracks, fill them with a slightly dry mixture of dry wood sawdust and a small amount of white glue. After pressing and sanding, you can cover it with self-adhesive furniture paper of the same color for decoration or use furniture repair paste of the same color for filling.
- Anti-Swelling Treatment: Strictly control the amount of liquid repair materials to prevent the board from absorbing water and swelling and deforming.
Metal Office Chairs
- Welding Repair: First, sand the rust on the crack to a bright metal surface. Then, weld it with argon arc welding. After welding, sand it smooth and finally spray it with metal paint of the corresponding color and apply anti-rust treatment.
- Professional Repair Advice: For cracks in load-bearing parts such as chair legs, it is recommended to contact a professional for repair to avoid the risk of breakage after self-repair.
General Treatment for Frame Cracks If the crack involves the frame, use a straight nail gun to fix the cracked part on the back, and then use a staple gun to fix the front crack. After flattening and sanding the front crack with glue, scrape off the excess glue with a blade.
Precautions: Ensure that the crack is dry and free of debris before repair. After repair, wait for the material to fully cure (usually more than 24 hours, with the specific time affected by temperature and humidity). For metal materials, regularly check the anti-rust layer after repair.
