Perspectives on Office Chair Classification
Office chairs can be scientifically classified from the following five perspectives:

1. By usage scenario and structural design Office chairs are designed to meet the needs of different office environments. Ergonomic chairs alleviate prolonged sitting pressure through adjustable seat height, armrests, backrest angles, and lumbar support, making them suitable for long-term office work. Mesh office chairs use high-elasticity mesh fabric, offering excellent breathability and are ideal for summer or people prone to sweating. Leather/fabric office chairs emphasize aesthetic appeal and are often used in management or meeting areas, though they have weaker breathability. Multi-functional adjustable chairs and folding chairs meet the needs of space-constrained scenarios through flexible structures. Additionally, work chairs (used in production workshops), student chairs (for schools or meeting venues), computer chairs (compact and space-saving), mid-back chairs (for management), executive chairs (boss chairs with a grand appearance), conference chairs (prioritizing stylish design), and chess and card chairs (simple and comfortable) are all optimized for specific scenarios.
2. By backrest height Backrest height directly affects the support range. High-back chairs extend to the head and neck, suitable for executive offices or those who work at desks for extended periods. Mid-back chairs cover up to the shoulders, balancing support and a sense of space, commonly found at regular employee workstations. Low-back chairs only support the waist, facilitating easy movement and storage, often used in conference rooms or temporary workstations.
3. By surface material Material selection affects comfort and maintenance costs. Mesh chairs feature elastic mesh covering the backrest and seat, offering exceptional breathability. Leather chairs (genuine or faux leather) exude elegance and are easy to clean, commonly found in reception areas. Fabric chairs offer a rich color palette and a warm sitting experience but require regular vacuuming. Hemp chairs are often used in staff or mid-back chairs. Anti-static chairs prevent static buildup through special treatments or accessories. Rubber band chairs use natural rubber band materials, offering breathability, antibacterial properties, and high comfort.
4. By chair leg structure Chair leg structure determines mobility and stability. Bow chairs feature curved steel tubes as legs, with a simple structure often used in conference rooms. Four-legged chairs are traditional and stable, suitable for training classrooms. Swivel chairs are equipped with universal wheels and gas lifts, supporting rotation and height adjustment, and are the mainstream choice for office workers. They are classified into semi-swivel chairs (90 degrees) and full-swivel chairs (360 degrees) based on rotation angle.
5. By function Functional differences reflect technological sophistication. Ordinary computer chairs only meet basic usage needs. Ergonomic computer chairs must meet conditions such as adjustable headrests, armrests that can be raised and lowered, backrests that fit the back, customizable height adjustment, reinforced explosion-proof steel plates, and SGS-certified gas lifts, reducing fatigue through scientific design.
