Office Chair Bow-shaped Installation

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation of an office chair with a bow-shaped base can be carried out according to the following steps:

I. Preparation
Before installation, carefully check the parts list to ensure that all small components such as screws, nuts, and washers are complete, avoiding installation interruptions due to missing parts. At the same time, prepare tools such as a cross-head screwdriver and a wrench, and clean the installation site to ensure the floor is flat and free of debris. The installation manual is a key reference; read and understand the diagrams of each step in advance, paying special attention to the screw specifications and their corresponding installation positions (e.g., long screws are used for base fixation, and short screws are used for armrest connections).

II. Installing the Armrests
Place the armrest components on both sides of the seat cushion. Note that the toothed structure on the inner side of the armrests should face the center of the seat surface to ensure the correct direction when connecting to the seat cushion. Insert short screws through the holes at the bottom of the armrests, align them with the threaded holes on the sides of the seat cushion, and tighten them initially without fully fixing them to leave room for subsequent adjustments. If the armrests are adjustable, ensure that the adjustment lever is in the initial position before installation.

III. Installing the Seat Cushion and Backrest
Lay the seat cushion flat on the ground and align the connecting plate of the backrest component with the holes at the rear of the seat cushion. This step requires two people to collaborate: one person holds the backrest steady to keep it vertical, while the other person inserts long screws from the bottom of the seat cushion and tightens them. During this process, check whether the angle between the backrest and the seat cushion conforms to ergonomic principles (usually between 90ยฐ and 105ยฐ) to avoid discomfort due to tilting.

IV. Installing the Base
Invert the bow-shaped base and align the central post of the seat cushion component with the installation hole of the base. Insert the main screw from the bottom up and tighten it in stages using a wrench: first manually screw it in until it contacts the threads, and then use tools to cross-tighten each screw to ensure a firm connection between the base and the seat cushion. After installation, shake the chair to test its stability. If any wobbling is detected, recheck the tightness of the screws.

Precautions:

  1. Avoid excessive force when tightening screws during installation to prevent slipping or damage to the threads;
  2. Tighten all screws in stages in a diagonal sequence to ensure even force distribution;
  3. After installation, check the mobility of each component (such as armrest adjustment and backrest tilt functions) to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise.
