Office Chair Base Installation

Admin October 17, 2026

The steps for installing the base of an office chair are as follows:

  1. Install the chair wheels Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-star base one by one. After ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded in its hole, flip the five-star base over and place it steadily on the ground. If using universal wheels, pick up each wheel, align it with the holes in the five-star base, and press evenly until the wheel is fully attached to the base. Complete the installation of all five wheels in this manner. It is important to ensure that the wheels are all facing the same direction to avoid obstruction of movement after installation.

  2. Install the gas lift Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the central hole of the five-star base, place it vertically downward, and press gently to ensure a tight connection between the gas lift and the base. For some models (such as those requiring a five-star base), first place the gas lift into the central hole of the five-star base, then insert it into the central hole of the main base, and finally flip the base upright. During installation, check that the gas lift is vertical to avoid instability during use.

  3. Screw fixation for special models (taking 1012A as an example) If installing the base of a 1012A model office chair, follow the accompanying video instructions:

    • Use screw C to secure the connection between the base and the gas lift, ensuring that the screw is tightened until there is no looseness;
    • Install screw D on the inside of the base to reinforce the internal structure;
    • Insert screw E through the washer and then screw it into the designated hole. The washer helps distribute pressure and prevents the screw from loosening. Screw installation should be carried out in order to avoid omissions or misalignments.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check that all components are complete to avoid interruption due to missing parts;
  • After installing the gas lift, test the lifting and lowering function to ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise;
  • If the base needs to be additionally connected to the chair seat, refer to the instructions and use the matching screws or clips for fixation;
  • After installation is complete, gently shake the office chair to check its overall stability and ensure there is no wobbling or tilting.

Tip: The base structures of different models of office chairs may vary. Before installation, it is recommended to read the product manual or watch the official installation video first to ensure that the operation complies with the specific model requirements.
