Office Chair Base Installation
The steps for installing the base of an office chair are as follows:

First, place the base on the seat cushion and secure the screws. Before installation, confirm the orientation of the base. Usually, there will be markings or structural features on the base indicating the correct installation direction. After placing the base steadily on the corresponding position of the seat cushion, align the four screw holes on the base with those on the seat cushion. At this point, you can use a screwdriver or an electric tool to screw the four matching screws into each hole one by one. Screw each screw in 3-4 turns first to ensure that the base is initially fixed and there is no displacement. After the initial fixation is completed, tighten the screws one by one to avoid the base tilting or the seat cushion deforming due to unilateral force. When tightening, pay attention to applying even force to prevent the screws from slipping or the surface of the seat cushion from being damaged.
Second, connect the base to the gas lift. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the height of the office chair. When installing, align the central hole of the base with the top of the gas lift. Slowly insert and slightly rotate the base to ensure that the connection between the base and the gas lift is completely flush with no looseness or jamming. Some gas lifts may have anti-slip patterns or snap-fit designs at the top. Refer to the product instructions to confirm whether additional operations are required (such as pressing the snap-fit or rotating to lock). If the gas lift has not been pre-installed on the five-star base, complete the assembly of the gas lift and the five-star base first, and then connect the base.
Finally, for some models, the armrests need to be installed in advance. According to the product structure design, the armrests of some office chairs are indirectly connected to the base through the back connecting rod. In this case, use four M8*78 screws and 8mm washers to fix the armrests at the designated positions on the back connecting rod. When installing, align the holes of the armrests with those of the back connecting rod. Place the washers between the screws and the connection surface to distribute the pressure and prevent wear caused by direct contact between metal parts. After the armrests are fixed, install the base according to the previous steps to ensure that there is no interference at the connection between the base and the back connecting rod. If the product instructions do not mention that the armrests need to be installed through the back connecting rod, you can skip this step and directly connect the base to the gas lift.
Precautions: Keep all components clean during the installation process to prevent debris from entering the connections. If the screw holes do not align, do not force the screws in. Check whether the components are installed upside down or deformed. After installation is completed, gently shake the chair to test the stability of the connections between the base, the gas lift, and the armrests.
