Office Chair Base Assembly

Admin October 22, 2026

The assembly of an office chair base generally includes the following steps: installing the chair wheels, installing the gas lift, installing the base and seat, and connecting the base to the gas lift.

  1. Installing the chair wheels: The chair wheels are crucial components for the mobility of the office chair, typically consisting of five. Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw (star-shaped) base one by one. Alternatively, you can pick up the universal wheels, align them with the holes of the star-shaped base, and press firmly to install them. Install all five wheels in sequence. During installation, ensure that the chair wheels fit tightly into the assembly holes of the star-shaped base to prevent looseness. Otherwise, the chair wheels may fall off during use, affecting the normal operation of the office chair and potentially causing safety hazards.
  2. Installing the gas lift: The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the height of the office chair. Align the thicker end of the gas lift with the center hole of the five-claw (star-shaped) base and place it in. Alternatively, you can first place the gas lift into the center hole of the star-shaped base, then insert the gas lift into the center hole of the base, and finally flip the base upright. Pay attention to the direction of the gas lift during installation to ensure it is installed correctly. Otherwise, the gas lift may not function properly, and height adjustment may not be possible.
  3. Installing the base and seat: The base serves to connect the seat and the gas lift, while also allowing for adjustments to the tilt angle of the office chair. Place the base on the seat cushion, paying attention to the orientation of the base. Align it with the screw holes, then lightly screw in each screw 3-4 turns before tightening them one by one. Alternatively, you can fix the base to the seat using screws. When tightening the screws, ensure that the force is moderate to prevent the screws from slipping or damaging the seat and base.
  4. Connecting the base to the gas lift: Align the seat cushion with the gas lift and insert it into the base hole, or vertically insert the base onto the gas lift. Ensure that the connection is secure and fully inserted during connection. This will ensure that the office chair does not wobble or separate during use, guaranteeing safety and stability.
