Office Chair Backrest Nails

Admin October 17, 2026

The commonly used types of nails for office chair backrests include metal decorative nails, plastic floor-protecting nails, structural fixing screws, and special-purpose nails, with the specific choice depending on design, material, and functional requirements.

Metal decorative nails (such as bubble nails and antique copper nails) serve both fixing and decorative functions and are commonly found on leather or wooden backrests. These nails typically have a round head design with diameters ranging from 8mm to 11mm, such as chrysanthemum bubble nails and smooth copper nails. Their metal material enhances the texture of the backrest, while the decorative design of the nail caps (such as chrysanthemum patterns and antique effects) enhances visual appeal. Some high-end office chairs use chrome-plated or nickel-plated metal nails to match the overall design style.

Plastic floor-protecting nails (such as nylon floor nails and moisture-proof nails) are primarily used for anti-slip or noise-reduction purposes. These nails are mostly made of thickened nylon or plastic material, with unit prices ranging from 0.08 yuan to 0.35 yuan, and possess wear-resistant and moisture-proof properties. Their bottoms are usually designed with rubber or soft plastic to reduce friction noise between the backrest and the supporting surface while preventing slipping. For example, some office chairs with adjustable backrests are equipped with plastic anti-slip nails at the bottom to ensure stability during use.

Structural fixing screws are the main connectors for modern office chairs, used for fixing the backrest to components such as armrests and trays. According to installation videos, M625mm screws are commonly used for connecting the backrest to the armrests, while M620mm screws are used for tray installation. These screws are typically made of galvanized or stainless steel material, possessing high strength and corrosion resistance to ensure long-term stability. Some office chairs also use hexagon socket screws to enhance installation convenience and aesthetics.

Special-purpose nails (such as U-shaped staples) are mostly used for reinforcing the backrest frame, but such nails are more commonly found in sofa furniture. U-shaped staples (1010J) can be quickly fixed using pneumatic tools and are suitable for connecting wooden or metal frames. However, since the backrest structure of office chairs is usually relatively simple and requires consideration of disassembly convenience, the application of U-shaped staples is relatively rare and is only seen in some customized or heavy-duty office chairs.
