Office Chair Backrest Modeling
Office chair backrest modeling can be achieved in different ways in various software. Here are the specific introductions:

SketchUp Modeling
In SketchUp, modeling can start from the backrest, treating the armrests and legs as a bent large H. First, build the basic shape of the large H, and then bend the armrest part to match the design form. After shaping the form, create the front legs and handle the recessed part at the connection between the front legs and the armrests to make the structure more natural. By inserting loop edges and stretching distances, form a hexagonal cross-section, which can be subdivided to obtain a cylindrical shape. For the cushion connection part, first determine the height dimension, and use operations such as mirroring and bridging to eliminate redundant loop edges. Copy the upper face to create the backrest contour, also eliminate unnecessary loop edges, perform bridging and merge redundant points, test whether loop edges can be inserted, mirror the upper part and bridge it, and finally adjust the form to complete the backrest modeling.
3ds Max Modeling
Taking a Pinnacle-style modern office chair as an example, the backrest modeling needs to fully consider the ergonomic curve, which is the key part of the model. When building the model, it is more reasonable to divide the backrest into multiple components and model each component separately. For example, the frame and filling part of the backrest can be modeled separately. After completing the modeling of each component, combine them through methods such as symmetry, attachment, and alignment. The advantage of this is that it can precisely control the details of each part and is also convenient for modifying the material and creating animation effects later.
Zhongwang 3D Modeling
In Zhongwang 3D, the first step in backrest design is frame design. First, insert and fix the frame part in the assembly page, draw a sketch on the YZ working plane and symmetrically stretch it, draw a sketch on the XY working plane, stretch it, and then extract the intersection line of the two curved surfaces, draw a sketch on the XZ working plane, stretch it, and extract the intersection line, draw a straight line, stretch it, and extract the intersection line, create a new working plane, draw a sketch, and use the 'sweep' to generate the frame entity, round the edges and shell it. For the mesh design, insert and fix the mesh part, merge the frame geometric objects, delete the internal curved surfaces of the solid objects, and use the 'ruled surface' and 'N-sided surface' commands to complete the mesh design.
