Office Chair Backrest Adjustment
There are several main methods for adjusting the backrest of an office chair, with slight differences in adjustment methods for different types:

I. Common Adjustable Handle Type Most adjustable office chairs are equipped with an adjustment handle on the right side of the seat. To adjust, first sit on the chair and locate the handle. Pull the handle, then lean back slightly with your back, and release the handle to fix the current angle. If you need to return to an upright position, continue pulling the handle and apply a slight force, and the chair back will automatically spring back. This adjustment method is suitable for most ordinary office chairs, with simple operation and stable angle fixation.
II. Pull-rod Type Backrest Reclining Some office chairs have a pull-rod under the right armrest. By pulling the pull-rod, the backrest can be reclined. When operating, maintain a sitting position, hold the pull-rod with your right hand and pull it upwards or backwards, while applying backward force with your back. The backrest will gradually tilt to the desired angle. To return to an upright position, perform the operation in reverse. This design is commonly found in office chairs that can be semi-reclined, suitable for short rest scenarios.
III. Bottom Adjuster Type Some executive chairs or high-end office chairs are equipped with an adjuster under the seat. To adjust, squat down or bend over to locate the adjuster at the bottom of the seat (usually a plastic or metal pull-rod). Pull the adjuster upwards while continuously applying backward force with your back, and the backrest will tilt according to the applied force. Release the adjuster to fix it at the target angle. Note: During adjustment, maintain the force application to avoid angle rebound due to insufficient force.
IV. Functions of Different Reclining Angles
- 90ยฐ Right-angle State: The backrest is perpendicular to the seat cushion, and the body is naturally relaxed. The back fits closely with the backrest, effectively supporting the lumbar and cervical vertebrae, suitable for long-term focused work or computer use.
- 100ยฐ Slightly Relaxed State: The backrest is slightly reclined, and the body is in a semi-relaxed state, suitable for surfing the Internet, watching movies, or playing casual games. It can maintain a certain level of attention while relieving eye fatigue.
- 125ยฐ Nap State: The backrest has a relatively large tilting angle, and the body is close to a semi-reclined position, suitable for lunch breaks or short rests, quickly relieving fatigue.
- 155ยฐ Deeply Relaxed State: The backrest is close to lying flat, and the body is completely relaxed, but it is not recommended for daily use. If you need a deep sleep, choosing a 180ยฐ lying-flat position is more comfortable.
Operation Tips: Before adjustment, confirm the type of chair and the location of the adjustment components to avoid damage due to excessive force. After adjustment, test the angle stability to ensure safe use.
